Don’t think I’ll be able to make potential storm initiation near Abilene today. Expecting any tornado potential to be early in the cell life. So I think I’m going to set up for upward lightning or sprites.
Black Is my ideal tornado target around 5pm. The red target is a possible sprite viewing target around 10pm-12am
LAST NIGHT WAS COOL! Some of you know I’m collaborating with two other Transient Luminous Event (TLE)(sprites, jets and what not) photographers namely Paul Smith and Scott Currens. All three of us have some skills in capturing weather and since sprites are so relitively new, we’re seeing what questions we can answer via multi perspective observations. Last night Paul and I made some interesting observations and I have a theory or two bubbling in my head. Once it’s all organized I’ll release our findings to you guys. So, this is great incentive to add to our data and shoot for the stars again tonight. I’ll post interesting updates should there be any.
