Yesterday was supposed to be only a commute day. Initially I aimed to chase the North Texas target under a thermonuclear cap just in case it broke. Why not, It's on the way to the Day2 target? I was taught that 13 degrees Celsius at 700mb was a sure bet for a cap bust. Yesterday's 700mb temps were modeled at 15 degrees near Childress TX. The SPC's non-delineated tornado risk for the area gave me an extra nudge to lolligag. The cap broke. I could have intercepted the MEAN storm in Matador Texas with some rattled core punching and poor road network however I made the live-to-fight-another-day choice and gave it a respectful wider birth. In consequence, I missed the killer tornado that plowed through Matador but did manage to wrench out an anticyclonic tornado among the onslaught of CG lightning. A dark day for sure.

Today I'll be heading into NE New Mexico for another thermonuclear set-up. Lot's of thoughts right now, but I need to get on the road so that i'm not late and rattled like yesterday.

Good luck today chasers.
