Song of the Month (August) Sinful Refrain

You guys might recognize this one from several storm videos.  I wrote and recorded this song in 2001, however something was missing.  That something was Emily Bell.  So we re-recorded it in 2015 and brought her in.  The percussion is Todd knocking on a cello with his knuckles and me on the tambourine (and guitars, bass and backup vocals).

The video slide show above is NV, AZ, UT & NM scenery from a road trip Emily and I took in a U-Haul when she was moving from San Francisco back to Houston. She now resides in Nashville where she continues to write, sing and create.

Good call for Betsy! I saw the Grand Canyon in 1986 - when the AA pilot said, "Look below" and he tilted the wing ever so slightly so everyone on one side could get a good view, then he titled the plane the other way just tiny bit so the other passengers could see it. It was a beautiful sunny day and it made the flight just perfect. I don't think many airlines bother with that kind of stuff anymore. What a wonderful journey you had, Hank. Despite the tornadoes, hurricane rains and the ice storm, you really are lucky to live in the western part of the United States. The landscapes are amazing!!!

That looks like it might be the Grand Canyon. Rumor has it, it is fabulous. I hide my head in shame as I have yet to go there and I've been to "Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump" before the GC. It snows there! Depending on where you are, the snow is not wet but powdery like powdered sugar. Don't kick piles of snow. Your foot may go through it and you land on you a$$. I know this now.. I head down toward the GC with a goal to get to the GC and end up wandering amazing places. Nature has produced numerous rabbit holes in the 4 Corners states. But in winter if you really want to explore, remember the Donner Party. Be prepared. Lots of land and not many people. Heaven on Earth!

Emily has a beautiful voice. Love the scenery in the video - awesome photography! :) :) :) What is the location at 2:37? It's fabulous! My dream is spend some time roaming the west. Wow, now I'm more inspired than ever! LOVE THE SNOW!!!
