This 10% tornado outlook is different from ones storm chasers get anxious for. Rather than discreet supercells and their beautiful danger dangles, this outlook suggests tornado potential in embedded in messy surging squall lines. Generally these QLCS tornadoes (Quasi Linear Convective System) are random and transient EFO-1s and rarely stronger than EF2.
Rather than scampering through scary strong winds all day seeking random mesovortices, I think I’m going to target lightning and dung beetles in the tail end of the line where action might be a little slower for a tripod set up.
