MONSOONS!!! July 30 Target

Forecasting can be frustrating and you never really know what's around the next mountain, but the HRRR model can help point you in A direction. My morning forecasts are often abandoned by afternoon.
Today I'm thinking of starting around Tucson and following storms west for the sunset.

I just came back from hiking across the Grand Canyon (rim-to-rim). While we were there we were treated to some nice lighting shows from those monsoons.

2022-07-31 15:35:50 +0000 UTCThose storms around Tucson started early yesterday! Around 2-3 hours earlier than the HRRR had them scheduled for. This put me in a mad scramble to get down that direction ASAP. By the time I arrived in the vicinity the complex was already leaving Tucson and barking on the doorstep of Marana. I shot the storm from Picacho for awhile until it threatened to overcome me, then worked my way north and west back into my own neighborhood to continue shooting new storms kicked up by the outflow. It was a crazy busy day and even found a few sparks just after dark! Thinking of heading down south way today (Sunday) and see if I can run into Hank somewhere along the road!
