This year in the desert my objective was to capture more real time, lightning storm video rather than stills and time lapses. It was a very active Monsoon while I was there with surreal colors, but I feel I didn't capitalize the best I could have.

I certainly captured some wonderful moments, however I'm haunted by the events I just missed... Either too far away or pointed the wrong way.

I partially blame the Covid. Despite having very minor symptoms, I felt drained and a lack of drive to drive for 3 or 4 days. Nat and I are both back home feeling 100%, however I still tested positive Monday.

I'm already looking forward to the 2023 Monsoon.

BTW, all these shots are video grabs. The 8K Sony Alpha1 did surprisingly well with a substantially improved rolling shutter.

Tonight a storm complex is expected to push through Houston. One of these days I'll get a break from harvesting storm footage and edit a video. Thank you so much for the support Patrons. Next stop, Tahiti!
