Storm Chase April 30

Place your bets, A or B?

Today I'm embracing the southern end "B" in the SPC's 5% tornado risk...

I didn't consider the NE/IO play today largely because I can't make it there in time. After plowing over the branches chasing the large tornado near Madisonville Texas on Sunday I needed to take the WindBreaker in for a brake check. Here's that monster...

No idea when I'll get a break from chasing to edit the 3 straight days of tornado footage. And it ain't even May yet.

Good luck Cold Front Chasers

In decades perhaps.

Got a tiny saggy nipple far far away in south Kansas. Some pretty lightning afterward. Getting rested for tomorrow. It’s May!

Pecos Hank

I actually hope to hell Hank is not there. Looks like an El Reno-type nightmare storm.

Wendy Jay

Really nice tornado up north of Manhattan Kansas

Celton

Confirmed tornado south of Cordell, OK. That’s on the southern edge of the 2% area too!

Greg Rice

This year is quickly becoming one of the better ones we’ve seen in a while and it’s not even May yet

Celton

Altus, OK for 400 Hank. Anyone have Southwest OK? Radar looks interesting.

Mike Castles

BBBBBBBB

Gary Kobiela

Looks like A is firing up early but I bet B will fire up later in the day.

MIKE BAUGHMAN

I'm going with B. Prog charts show the cold front moving slowly and the upper level winds more favorable

Dana Latta

The southern end of SPC's enhanced risk area moved northward, which doesn't bode well for B even though the tornado risk still looks the same.

Wendy Jay

Feel the southern end will be better anyway. Things will more likely be less linear and there is better moisture.
