Above might be the final thumbnail of my next video that I’m hoping to upload tonight or tomorrow. Let’s explore what we should title it?
It’s a very short video (2:30) focusing on the horses that are impacted. But there are other interesting things you might miss if not watching very carefully.

Above is the initial touchdowns of the Windthorst TX tornado/es from several days ago. Watch for the third tiny vapor vortex zipping across the field. This little sucker could poke the eyes of an unsuspecting observer with vegetation fragments and possibly knock ‘em on their butts.

Also watch for the sudden explosive debris on these “weak” vortices above.

The above silhouetted tornado will pass meters in front of my location. Frequent positive bolts were crashing behind me as the horses belt out creepy whinnies of fear.
Your attention will likely be fixed on the horses running from tin panels and shed walls flying through the air, but be sure to rewind and watch the 6-10 foot trees suddenly explode across the road. Imagine what this likely EF1 would do to your body if struck by those trees…

The horses do not appear to sustain any serious injuries as most of the large debris misses them. I get a little emotional in the moment as the horses escape and I want this video to advertise victory for the horses. I personally avoid videos in which an animal is advertised as harmed, and so I’d like to hint to like-minded viewers of a happy ending.
So how about…
Horses Hit by Tornado & Escape
“Survive” still might imply injury and so I think I want to avoid that word.
LONG TERM FORECAST:

I would have liked to be in west TX today as potential tail end supercells track along a boundary. We got hit by another windstorm on Tuesday that tore down more limbs littering our yard. I found shingles impaled in our trees. After inspecting with the drone, I found our roof is still sound, but my neighbors roof, not so much.

I’m keeping an eye on Arkansas tomorrow. The following week isn’t screaming CHASE to me, however Saturday in Colorado, Sunday in the Dakotas, NE & KS deserve attention.
Monday currently looks like a day off followed by a strong line of storms on Tuesday in MN, IO and south. After this event, ridging might extinguish storms through at least Friday the 7th…
All this according to the last GFS run.
