Good Afternoon Patrons,
Tomorrow, CNN premieres their “Violent Earth” series with a small boatload of my tornado and lightning footage. Judging by the trailer, it looks to be high quality, perhaps competing with BBC and NatGeo.
CNN also timely released a short conversation Dr. Orf and I had about his simulations. It’s nice to see Leigh getting recognition for his incredible work (and them butchering my last name). 🙃 Link below…
THE VALLEY VIEW NIGHT TORNADO on May 25 reportedly killed 7 people. I was as close to the EF3 scene as semi-comfortably possible just prior to it hitting i35. Here are a few of my screen grabs of the amorphous blob in power flashes.

THE 8 DAY FORECAST isn’t screaming “CHASE” to me, but there is definitely opportunity for random tornadoes here and there.
Here’s my summery based on the latest GFS run.

Today / Saturday: the 2% in Colorado. Cross fingers for CO magic.
Tomorrow / Sunday: I’d aim at potential tail storms in southern Nebraska / perhaps Northern Kansas. Currently a 2% risk, but It might bump up to 5%.
MONDAY: Low confidence conditional threat for storms near the OK/ KS border. (Watching)
TUESDAY: Low confidence for a late storm in OK. Minnesota deserves watching as well.
WEDS: nada
THURS: perhaps a big storm on the OK/ KS border
FRI: Storms drift off the New Mexico Raton mesa into the OK panhandle vicinity.
SATURDAY THE 8th: Messy storms on the NM / CO upslope.
I’m currently waiting for better tornado parameters to materialize before heading up north. These long range outlooks can flip pretty quickly. Standing by.
Good luck optimistic chasers!
