Toad Freeze

Hope everyone has escaped the horrific fires and is prepared for the Winter blast. Below are Wednesday morning's lows from 2 different models largely in agreement. Notice the crazy anomalous low temperatures from Houston to New Orleans vicinity. If this verifies North Dakota will be warmer than Baton Rouge.
These temperatures are lizard and toad killers for those that aren't nestled somewhere deep and warm. Flipping landscape stones in my backyard, I've captured about 20 juvenile Gulf Coast toads and 4 brown anoles that would have surely perished. They will now be kicking it in warm Tupperware spas the next few days before being released once temperatures are tolerable.
Less than 6 weeks until March. Storm season 2025 will be here soon!
