Hello Patrons,
And just like that it's storm season again. Big stormy weekend! ...That I am not thrilled for. Fast storms in poor chase country trying to sucker you into driving like a you-know-what. Expecting a lot of wind damage and probably a big killer tornado or two. Maybe we'll get lucky and it'll all bust.
FRIDAY: The models are in agreement that a large QLCS will form with likely embedded supercells. The HRRR has a late pop around sunset. The run below is 8PM. This is not a scenario I want to mess with.

THE NAM (below) currently fires things off earlier with some daytime to see things. Still, terrible chase country especially with the fast parameters. Regardless, it'll be good to calibrate the two models and see how they are handling things this year.

As of now, I'll likely sit out tomorrow and save that energy for the slower stuff. A common mistake I seem to make every year is getting gung-ho in February and March on the jungle trash and then burning out in June when things tend to get slow and gorgeous.
SATURDAY: I'll likely get suckered into chasing Mississippi and plan to send a proper analysis tomorrow. I encourage other chasers to keep the reins tight on their horses. When you get behind (and you will) ask yourself if it's really worth the extra mph. I'll try to do the same.
If you happen to be awake late in the States, go check out the moon.
