IBHJ Chapter 830
Added 2024-05-18 06:14:49 +0000 UTC"Phew... Phew!" Morrigan gasped for breath, hands on her knees, struggling to catch her breath.
"What on earth are you doing?" Hinako asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Wait, just... just give me a sec," Morrigan panted.
"You're getting too fat. It's time for a diet. Now, move your ass!" Hinako said coldly, crossing her arms.
Morrigan huffed, annoyance written all over her face.
"Eating and sleeping all day, you're no better than a pig," Hinako continued.
Finally, Morrigan snapped, "Hey! Don't forget, I still owe you money! If you keep insulting me like this, you can kiss your money goodbye!"
"You little worm, you're being unreasonable..." Hinako pressed her hand against her forehead, exasperated.
"Well, if you start treating me better, maybe I'll consider paying you back. Otherwise, heh heh heh... Don't forget, the one with the money is the boss! You should serve me well."
Hinako pushed up her glasses, a glint in her eyes, "I know exactly where your internet cable is installed."
Morrigan's face fell, a sense of despair washing over her, "I... I'll pay you back. Lady Hinako, please, spare my poor little internet cable."
Hinako pushed up her glasses again, a victorious smile playing on her lips. Morrigan was defeated. Today was just another glorious day for the great Lady Hinako.
Suddenly, the ground in Iceland began to shake violently. Without warning, the earth's surface split open, and a brilliant curtain of light erupted into the sky, intensifying the already mesmerizing auroras overhead. The entire world seemed to be painted in a dreamlike hue, as if reality and fantasy had merged into one.
"What the... What's happening?" The strange phenomenon immediately caught the attention of Chaldea's staff, who stared in surprise.
"Stay alert! Something's about to come out from the connection point!" Gray shouted, her face filled with concern, "Servants, take defensive positions, now!"
As the blinding light continued to pour from the sky, several humanoid figures began to take shape, their forms obscured by the intense light. The atmosphere grew tense as everyone waited with bated breath, unsure of what or who was about to come out from the other side.
"Could they be the enemy?" People's expressions turned grim as they braced themselves for a potential confrontation.
"Wait! This aura..." Gray said, looking at the light curtain with a mix of surprise and recognition, as the human figures within became clearer. Gradually, the light curtain shattered and vanished, revealing the identities of those who had emerged. The Chaldea staff couldn't help but be stunned by the sight before them.
"Illya-senpai? Chloe-senpai?" The people appearing before them weren't the enemies mentioned in the mission briefing, but their seniors, Illya and Chloe. Behind them, they could feel the presence of some powerful Servants.
"Is that the King of Knights?" People noticed Salter standing behind Illya and Chloe. And behind them, there was Shirou.
"He looks familiar," someone pointed at Shirou, their voice tinged with surprise and a hint of confusion.
There was something very familiar about him, but try as they might, they couldn't quite place where they had seen him before. Meanwhile, the Masters of Chaldea felt that Shirou's presence gave off a majestic feeling, similar to that of the King of Heroes.
"Could it be Eternal King...? He looks just like the king I saw when I was a kid..." One of the staff muttered under his breath.
Hearing this, the others turned to look at Shirou, their eyes wide with shock. They couldn't help but think back to that terrible day many years ago when their world was invaded, and the three kings who fought against the world-ending threat. There was King Solomon, the King of Magecraft, Gilgamesh, the King of Heroes, and the Eternal King. Thirteen years ago, when the enemy invaded and True Ether was released all over the world, it led to a brutal battle. People saw the true faces of the three kings that day. But in the end, only King Solomon and Gilgamesh remained. Eternal King disappeared along with the invader, never to be seen again. And now, thirteen years later, Eternal King stood before them once again. People stared at Shirou, their eyes wide with disbelief.
Another light appeared beside Salter and Shirou. Salter sensed something and turned her head slightly, her golden eyes falling on Mordred. But just as quickly, she looked away, as if lost in thought, unwilling to acknowledge Mordred any further.
Seeing Salter's reaction, Mordred pouted and stuck out her tongue. She crossed her arms and turned her head away. "Who does she think she is, acting like some snobbish little princess? Hmph. What's so great about her anyway!" she muttered under her breath, sneaking glances at Salter from the corner of her eye.
"It's him!" Hinako's gaze fell on Shirou.
Her Servant, sensing trouble, quickly reached out to hold her back. But the humiliating memory of being shown up by Shirou at the Connecting Point was still fresh in Hinako's mind. She snorted. What kind of person would she be if she didn't get back at him for that?
Morrigan quickly jumped onto Hinako's back, her arms wrapping tightly around Hinako's waist from behind.
"What do you think you're doing?" Hinako asked, trying to pry Morrigan's hands off.
"Just let it go for now," Morrigan said. "You couldn't beat him before, so forget about it."
"Get off me, you're too heavy, you fat otaku!" Hinako grunted.
"Hey, I may be a neet and an otaku, but I'm not fat!" Morrigan yelled, shaking her friend violently. Hinako, who was struggling to maintain her human form, couldn't keep her balance. Her feet slipped on the snow, and with Morrigan still clinging to her back, they both crashed to the ground with a loud "thud".
"Ouch, that hurt!" Hinako gritted her teeth. "I'm gonna kill you, Morrigan!"
Morrigan shouted, "Gao, quick! Help me subdue her!" She was once again relying on her seniority and status as a respected doctor to cause trouble. For the sake of world peace and justice, she made a 'sincere' request for Gao to help restrain Hinako.
Gao Changgong covered his face with his hand, sighing in exasperation. "Not again," he thought. It was too much of a hassle, so he pretended not to notice and walked away.
"Wait! I'll give you one of my accounts. It's got tons of characters and loot. Don't go!" Morrigan shouted after him.
She reached out her hand in despair. "Hurry up! I can't hold her much longer! The kind and lovely Miss Morrigan is about to be chopped into pieces by the wicked and ugly Miss Hinako! Don't leave me!"
"I seriously can't keep her down. Someone's gonna die here! Don't go. You can still save Chaldea's cutest doctor. Don't abandon me!"
"Mor-ri-gan!" Hinako's voice sounded like she was ready to devour someone whole.
...
Not far away, on an iceberg, several people were observing the situation. One of them was Romani. He watched the drama play out and mumbled, "As I thought, women can be really terrifying..."
"Mm? Did you say something, my dear Romani?" a stunning, mature woman glanced at him, her voice as smooth as silk. Her skin was slightly tanned, and she wore a red Middle Eastern-style outfit that accentuated her curves and highlighted her mature charm. Her eyes had a kind of gaze that seemed to want to devour Romani's very bones, making him feel like he was sitting on pins and needles, cold sweat breaking out all over his body. Despite this, the woman was still smiling, although it was a rather unsettling smile that sent shivers down his spine.
Romani shook his head violently, "Nope, I didn't say anything!"
"That's a good boy." She gave him a sweet smile before turning her attention back to the curtain of light. "Still, it's a relief the worst didn't happen."
To the people of Chaldea, they seemed like a loving couple, but only the two of them knew the real story. Romani dreaded the nights, especially when this woman was near. He couldn't help but feel like the unluckiest guy around. 'Why did it have to be her of all people?' Romani thought, silently crying on the inside.
"Tch, I thought we were in for a good show, but it turned out like this. Still, seeing that guy again was a pleasant surprise, not half bad," Gilgamesh said, a trace of amusement in his voice. He turned to Solomon, "Right, where's Merlin? I really want to kill him right now. That mongrel! He begged me to play DPS while he was supposed to be my healer, and then he has the nerve to go AFK on me!"
"Don't worry. Once I'm done farming some exp, I'll help you track down Merlin so we can settle the score!" Solomon assured him.
"He ran off and let me get one-shot by the boss." Gilgamesh clicked his tongue. There's no way he could wait for Solomon.
"Wait." Romani grabbed Gilgamesh's hand as he was about to leave.
"What do you think you're doing?"
"Just stay put. I need to discuss something with you."
Gilgamesh gave him an annoyed look. Romani's hand gripped Gilgamesh's arm, afraid that he might run away. The situation was clear as day. There were only three people there. If Gilgamesh left... Romani turned his head and glanced at the smiling Queen of Sheba.

He's got some awesome character development and romantic moments with 3 women, but he almost never gets to follow up or have any peaceful moments with them after: arcuied (stuck on the moon), scathach (stuck in asgard) and artoria (is around, but the number of times they manage to talk to her outside of battle, after he finally admitted he loves her can be counted on one hand). And that's not even mentioning his daughter (same situation as artoria).
