IBHJ Chapter 764
Added 2024-03-26 04:50:06 +0000 UTC"You don't believe me? Haven't you ever had any strange dreams about yourself, Mr. Assassin? Or have you ever felt a sense of déjà vu while doing something for the first time, as if you've done it before?" The Demonic Bodhisattva asked, her eyes glinting with curiosity.
Skadi, who had been quietly riding on his back, suddenly became restless. She stared intently at the Demonic Bodhisattva and said, "I've had this feeling before. I keep having these strange dreams about myself. Sometimes, even when I'm doing something for the first time, it feels like I've done it before. Tell me, Beast, have I also been experiencing this so-called reset?"
Shirou was taken aback by Skadi's willingness to believe Demonic Bodhisattva's claims. Was she really that gullible and lacking in social experience? Believing whatever someone says is a surefire way to get yourself killed. Given his own upbringing, Shirou didn't buy into the Demonic Bodhisattva's reset theory for a second, and he was even more certain of the experiences he'd had himself. But he never expected Skadi to actually believe it and even ask about it. To him, it seemed like a sign of low IQ.
"How should I know? After all, I'm just a prospective member of the Council and haven't even decided whether to join yet," the Demonic Bodhisattva said with a smile.
A prospective member of the Council? Demonic Bodhisattva was also considering joining the Council? His heart tightened at the thought.
At that moment, Svadilfari turned his gaze to Skadi, his voice deep and serious. "Skadi, that Black Grail doesn't belong to you. Give it back to me."
She frowned, "Then whose is it?"
"It belongs to Skadi! Our companion, the Frost Giants' companion, the goddess of snow, Skadi!"
"But I am Skadi!"
"No, you're merely a vessel merged with Skadi. You're someone else who has grown into Skadi." Svadilfari shouted, before activating the magic circle beneath them.
With a whirring sound, several magic circles began to glow, and a powerful restraining force descended upon Shirou's body. He felt the surrounding space constrict, as if it were rejecting and oppressing him from all sides.
"In that case, I won't hold back, Mr. Assassin," the Demonic Bodhisattva said with a smile, her voice tinged with a seductive edge. As she spoke, countless pale hands stretched out from the shadows, their fingers grasping and clawing as they attempted to grab hold of him and drag him down into the darkness.
Shirou gritted his teeth, his face a mask of determination as he summoned Rhongomyniad, the holy spear materializing in his hand with a flash of light. With Skadi still clinging to his back, he slashed at the lustful hands, the blade of the spear cutting through the air with blinding speed.
Boom! Boom! As Rhongomyniad made contact with the hands, they exploded one after another, the force of the impacts sending shockwaves rippling through the tunnels. Severed fingers and palms flew through the air, the pale flesh disintegrating into ash as it was consumed by the holy power of the spear.
However, despite his best efforts, he could feel the suppression of Asgard's Bounded Fields weighing down upon him, the invisible force pressing against his body and slowing his movements. With each passing second, it became harder and harder to stay on his feet, his legs trembling with the effort of supporting both his own weight and that of Skadi.
At that moment, Skadi's eyes flashed with light, and a phenomenon of wind and snow appeared around her, dispelling Asgard's suppression. Shirou regained his strength, and he compressed Rhongomyniad, causing it to become even more dense and slimmer, resembling a spear that began to hum with power. He then shattered the oncoming hands with renewed strength. Seeing an opening, he aimed at the Demonic Bodhisattva's abdomen and threw the spear straight towards it.
As the Spear of Endless Light rushed towards her like a meteor, the Demonic Bodhisattva smirked. "The same trick won't work twice on me!"
In response to her command, countless large pale hands spiraled together, their fingers intertwining and merging until they formed a giant palm, easily dwarfing Shirou and Skadi. With a fierce slap, the giant hand swatted the Spear away, the impact sending shockwaves through the air and causing the ground to tremble beneath their feet.
Realizing that his attack had been ineffective, Shirou wasted no time. He extended his hand, his fingers outstretched, and summoned the Spear back to him. Rhongomyniad flew through the air, its form blurring as it returned to its master's hand.
Shirou frowned, his brow furrowed as he faced the Demonic Bodhisattva before him. If they were to engage in a direct confrontation, he knew he wouldn't stand a chance against her.
Suddenly, Hel's angry roar echoed through the tunnels from outside, reaching their ears. "Skadi!!!"
"Oh my~ Hel seems to be in quite the mood. But if she's making such a cute sound, it means she's finished her task and is on her way here," Demonic Bodhisattva said, looking at him with a smile that wasn't quite a smile, as if she were gazing at a prize that had already fallen into her hands.
Shirou's heart sank as he realized the gravity of the situation. This was Hel's stronghold, and he had been suppressed by Asgard's bounded fields the entire time. Not only did he have to protect Skadi, but he also had to face someone as formidable as the Demonic Bodhisattva and the Goddess of Death Hel. What was he going to do? Shirou racked his brain, desperately trying to come up with a plan.
At that moment, the Demonic Bodhisattva's voice rang out, "My--"
But before she could finish her sentence, a deafening explosion interrupted her.
"Boom!" The sturdy walls of the Asgard tunnel on the right side collapsed, the impact sending debris flying in all directions, leaving the Demonic Bodhisattva and Svadilfari stunned, their eyes widening in surprise at the unexpected development.
With a whoosh, a golden light, like a stream of radiance, pierced through the air, its brilliance cutting through the darkness. The light stopped in front of Shirou and faded, revealing a magnificent weapon. It was none other than Skadi's Spear, Gungnir!
Shirou stared at the flickering Gungnir floating before him, stunned by its sudden appearance.
"It's calling out to you, urging you to take it, Eternal King," Skadi said.
What? Shirou frowned. How could he possibly use someone else's Noble Phantasm? He didn't have the ability to forcibly deprive others of their Noble Phantasms. Despite these thoughts, he found himself subconsciously reaching out, his hand grabbing the shaft of Gungnir.
"That's... Odin's spear? Is he out of his mind? Apart from Odin, only Skadi can wield Gungnir. He..." Svadilfari's words trailed off, his eyes widening in disbelief. He watched as Shirou, now holding Gungnir, was not only not rejected by the spear but instead seemed to be embraced by it, the weapon emitting a divine light.
What did this mean? It meant that Shirou had somehow gained the right to use this spear. But how was that possible? Wasn't Gungnir only meant to be wielded by Odin and Skadi? If that weren't the case, Hel would have claimed the spear for herself long ago. Why would she have waited until now? What exactly was going on? Svadilfari was going crazy.
Shirou himself was equally perplexed by the situation. The legendary spear Gungnir had acknowledged him, granting him the ability to wield it. But how could this be? This spear was meant to be exclusive to Odin and Skadi.
"Impossible." Even the Demonic Bodhisattva was taken aback, her surprise evident in her voice. "Wasn't it supposed to be completely reset? The connection that was severed in the old world has somehow reconnected in the new one. How can this be? A connection that remains unbroken even when crossing worlds... How could such a thing happen? And why didn't the Counter Force interfere with it?"
"I don't have time for your nonsense. Out of my way!" Shirou shouted as he charged towards Demonic Bodhisattva. In each hand, he wielded a spear—the Spear of Endless Light in his right and the legendary spear Gungnir in his left. As he advanced, the spears began to glow with an otherworldly light, their power surging through his body. With a swift motion, he thrust the spears forward, and they instantly transformed into spiraling flowers of destruction, their sharp edges slashing through the pale hands created by the Beast, cutting them down like wheat before a scythe.
