IBHJ Chapter 801

The massive body of the Midgard Serpent dissipated like spiritrons, finally leaving behind an Origin Wheel. Shirou picked up the wheel, and Illya and the others walked up to him, unable to resist saying, "You're so amazing, oniichan."

"This is nothing," he shook his head.

Illya and the others felt that he was being too modest. That was the Midgard Serpent Jörmungandr! In human history, it was the notorious magical beast that had poisoned Thor to death! Illya could only say with a smile that he was being too modest.

In fact, Shirou wasn't being modest but telling the truth. Compared to the Alien God, Buddha, and other powerful beings, Jörmungandr was indeed nothing.

At that moment, he saw Skadi stumbling over from a distance and hurried to her side, holding her steady with both hands. "Skadi, I did it. I won," Shirou held up the Origin Wheel and said with a smile.

"Well done, Shirou. I knew you would definitely win," she said with a smile.

He shook his head, "It's all thanks to your blessing. By the way, even if we each hold one of the wheels, we should still be able to negate Surtr's modification to the world's rules, right?" Without waiting for an answer, he placed the Origin Wheel in her hand. "Here, you take this one."

Skadi's brow furrowed in confusion. "But why? You're the one who defeated Jörmungandr."

"So what? It won't change the big picture, and you need it more than I do to get your divinity back."

She hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Okay." She accepted Jörmungandr's Origin Wheel, knowing it was crucial for restoring and stabilizing her divinity.

Illya and the others watched the intimate exchange between Shirou and Skadi, their jaws dropping in disbelief.

"Uhm, hold on. Oniichan..." Chloe pointed at him, then at Skadi, and asked with a strange look on her face, "How did your relationship suddenly become so good?"

As Chloe said this, Skadi quickly withdrew her hand from Shirou's and stepped back, putting some distance between them. They had indeed been standing too close for comfort.

"You two..." Illya's eyes widened as she spoke in a dazed voice, "Don't tell me you had some kind of snowy mountain adventure? You know, like when the main characters who don't get along fall into a cave, have an intimate moment to keep each other warm, and end up falling in love... Oh god, I shouldn't have read Miyu's novels."

Illya covered her blushing face, then peeked at Shirou and Skadi through her fingers, asking eagerly, "Did that really happen?"

"Absolutely not!" Skadi snapped, her cheeks burning with embarrassment.

"Well, that's probably for the best," Chloe said with a smirk. "Because according to the plot of those novels, the couple who makes it out of the snowy mountains always ends up going their separate ways. Either because of life and death situations or their own personal reasons. It might seem interesting, but it's actually a story doomed to be a tragedy. That's why I'm not a fan of Miyu's novels."

As she listened to Chloe's words, Skadi tightened her grip on the Origin Wheel, her knuckles turning white.

...

Surtr, who had been focused on using Laevateinn to forge the final path, suddenly opened his eyes and looked up at the sky, his expression one of surprise. The fire giant beside him noticed this and quickly asked, "Is something wrong, my king?"

"The world's laws have been restored," Surtr said, unable to conceal his astonishment. The fire giant glanced at the sky and, indeed, the color had changed. Moreover, the world's laws once again descended on them, stripping the giants of their newly gained advantage.

"How can this be? Did Eternal King find the World Serpent? That's impossible! We've been searching for over two thousand years with Hel, and we haven't found a trace. How long have they been in this world? How could they have located it so quickly?" The fire giant's voice was filled with shock. "Could it be Skadi's doing?"

"No," Surtr shook his head. "Only Odin has the ability to find Jörmungandr. Even Skadi doesn't have that power. This means that either the divinity of Odin held by Skadi has played a role, or Eternal King has stumbled on something Odin left behind."

"Damn it! They found the wheel at this critical moment. Eternal King and his group are just too lucky! Curse them!" The fire giant couldn't contain his anger. For the survival of their race, they had schemed for a full 14,000 years, outlasting Odin and the gods, robbing Skadi of her support, negotiating with the council, defeating Yggdrasil, and plotting against Hel, only to have their plans foiled by Eternal King's unexpected appearance.

"It's just like the Pan-Human History invasion war two thousand years ago. The frost giants had nearly conquered a world in Pan-Human History, but then a Savior appeared out of nowhere and wiped out the frost giants and some of our own kind. It's infuriating!" The fire giant gritted his teeth. "My king, you have never been defeated, but every time we're on the brink of victory, something unexpected happens. It's maddening!"

"Calm down. Anger is the most incompetent response," Surtr said calmly.

"Then, my king, what do you suggest we do? Our warriors are stronger and more valiant than those humans. I have no doubt we can defeat them. But we're running out of time!" The fire giant anxiously bit his fingernails. "Damn it, if it weren't for the Eternal King..."

Surtr knew this reasoning all too well. If the Heroic Spirit manifesting in this world hadn't been Eternal King, things would be far less complicated.

Moreover, Eternal King had found Jörmungandr, something Surtr had been searching for without success for over 2,000 years. This piqued Surtr's interest in Eternal King even more, but he knew they were mortal enemies, and reality didn't allow him to waste time.

Surtr calmly said, "Let's assess the situation first, then decide what to do." The fire giant nodded in agreement.

...

"Yes, it worked! That awful feeling of weakness is gone!"

"Finally, we can get back to fighting!" Eternal Soldiers cheered and rejoiced as the feeling of powerlessness finally disappeared. It felt like returning to the British Isles from more than 1,500 years ago, with strength and vitality coursing through their bodies once more. In contrast, the giants who had previously been as excited as if they were on a stimulant, wilted again.

Everyone knew this was all thanks to their king. He had found a way to break the giants' manipulation of the world's laws, restoring balance to the way things were meant to be.

As the breath of desolation swept across the war-torn landscape, the human army stood resolute, their spirits unbreakable in the face of the charging giant legion. The earth trembled beneath the thunderous footsteps of the colossal enemies, but the humans' morale was as strong as ever due to their king restoring the world's law, causing the sudden loss of strength to return to their bodies.

At the forefront of the human army stood Galahad, a beacon of hope and courage amidst the battlefield. And around him, the glowing Castle of Lord Camelot stood tall, its walls pulsing with an otherworldly glow. The castle's strength was the foundation on which the human army relied, a bastion of protection against the relentless assault of the giants. Its radiant light cast an ethereal glow across the battlefield, instilling a sense of hope in the hearts of the human army.

As the giant legion surged forward, their massive bodies casting long shadows across the ravaged earth, the human army met them head-on. The clash of steel against flesh, the cries of the fallen, and the roars of the giants merged into a deafening cacophony that filled the air. The knights led the charge, their sword flashing in a deadly dance as they carved a path through the enemy ranks, inspiring the soldiers to fight with unwavering bravery.

The Castle of Lord Camelot's strength proved invaluable in repelling the giants' main force. Its impenetrable walls withstood the crushing blows of the colossal enemies, while its enchanted defenses unleashed devastating counterattacks that sent shockwaves rippling through the enemy lines, preventing the giants' main forces from flooding the Castle.
