IBHJ Chapter 923

"Hey! Morrigan!" Gil-kun, who was leading the charge, turned to her and called out, "Get over here and support Enkidu!"

"I'm afraid I have to decline," she shook her head.

"No matter how much you buff a low-level character, it won't change anything. You know my account specializes in increasing damage, I don't have dedicated tank or healing skills," Gil-kun insisted.

"Even so..." she hesitated, glancing at Evil Flower.

"Go ahead, sis. They need your abilities more than I do right now," he encouraged.

The reason Venus was currently docile was due to Altera's fierce battle against it. While Venus wasn't a combat-type UO, the White Titan, created using Illya's Holy Grail and magical energy, was not as powerful as the real thing. It was only a matter of time before she was crushed by Venus.

They had to clear the hidden map before Altera was defeated. They had to be rational and avoid any delays!

"I understand. But be careful. If things get too dangerous, just leave this place," Morrigan cautioned.

If this were over 1,500 years ago, the domineering and cold-hearted Morgan le Fay wouldn't have cared about "Artoria's" safety, but now, standing here was Morrigan.

"Mm," he nodded.

She walked towards Gilgamesh.

"So slow. A low-level player in a top-tier dungeon. Hmph, overestimating yourself," Gilgamesh glanced at Evil Flower.

"Don't say that, Gil," Enkidu looked at Gilgamesh with gentle eyes. "Perhaps that mud-like item of the King of Knights could be our key to victory."

"Mud!"

Gilgamesh's brows furrowed deeply.

Among the Heroic Spirits skilled in using mud, in Gilgamesh's memory, there was only that damned mongrel, Fujimaru Shirou. Could it be that Shirou had hidden his other half in the shadow of the King of Knights?

"Hmph. This truly fits that mongrel's methods," Gilgamesh thought. "That mongrel actually using Merlin's account and entering this hidden map first. Now he's probably either hiding somewhere in this dungeon or has already been killed and wasted his account. Hmph. It doesn't matter which, let's get this fragment first!"

"Everyone, follow my charge—!"

"Charge—!"

Gilgamesh shouted, leading the army of adventurers into the depths of Venus, charging towards a giant tree reaching the clouds.

Most of Venus's angels had left its main body to attack the outside world. Only some relatively weak monsters remained within.

As they faced the dense forest, a swarm of Level 6 and 7 monsters came charging out. Gilgamesh scoffed and nonchalantly whipped out seventy or eighty scrolls from his Inventory, throwing them towards the oncoming horde.

The scrolls burst into terrifying magical flames the moment they touched the monsters, exploding like miniature suns.

"Boom! Boom!"

The endless explosions turned the surroundings into a sea of scorching fire, swallowing all the monsters blocking the way and burning away their lives.

"Th-that's a one-time fairy scroll, right?" Someone looked at Gilgamesh with a shocked expression. "Fairies can engrave their spells into scrolls, turning them into one-time magical items that anyone can use. Because of the special and rare materials, every fairy scroll is priceless. Even first-class magic scrolls sell for over 50,000 QP. And, and those fairy scrolls One King just used must be at least seven times more expensive, right?"

"A-amazing."

The adventurers were captivated by Gilgamesh's wealth.

"I can't even bear to use one... Damn rich pay-to-win player!" Morgan looked at Gilgamesh with resentment, her envious gaze resembling that of a social loser.

"Hmph. Poor mongrel, are you jealous already?" Gilgamesh crossed his arms and looked at Morgan with disdain. "Things like this, I have so many that even my trash cans can't hold them all. Problems that can be solved with money are not problems at all. As for those elite monsters that can't be dealt with by scrolls, keep an eye on them and the front line's HP. That's your responsibility as a healer."

"Don't order me around, I know," she said while casting healing spells on the front line who were holding off the elite monsters with their bodies.

At that moment, hundreds of bizarre monsters surged out from the nearby dense forest, rushing towards the adventurer army.

The adventurers began releasing their skills, but this army was of mixed quality and lacked teamwork experience. Their various skills couldn't be coordinated and released in unison, failing to form a deterrent.

Gilgamesh glanced at them and said, "Just apply buffs to the front line."

"But with so many monsters rushing in at once, the front line won't be able to hold, right?" Someone couldn't help but say.

"Can't hold? Hmph. What a foolish question, I don't even feel like answering."

Gilgamesh snorted contemptuously, then snapped his fingers. A huge void appeared beside him, and countless fairy scrolls shot out like machine gun bullets, turning into a stream of light shooting towards the monsters.

"Boom! Boom!"

Under the explosions of the fairy scrolls, those hundreds of monsters couldn't advance a single step and were all buried in the sea of fire.

"Just one person..."

The adventurers were dumbfounded. This was One King, one of the top adventurers on the entire continent. Without a doubt, the adventurers were all captivated by Gilgamesh's wealth.

"D-damn rich guy...!"

After understanding the value of fairy scrolls in this world, even Shirou couldn't help but curse at Gilgamesh's level of extravagance.

Gilgamesh's ears twitched, and he turned his head to look at Shirou with a sneer, saying, "Don't compare this king with you and that poor Eternal King. When it comes to wealth, no one can match this king."

Shirou felt extremely annoyed looking at the arrogant Gilgamesh. As expected, this guy deserved to be taught a lesson. However, in this situation, Gilgamesh showing off his wealth was somewhat reliable. With Rin/Ishtar gone, using machine gun-like scroll attacks could quickly clear this dungeon, allowing Altera to suffer less.

Just as he was thinking this, a female voice, sharp with annoyance, could be heard from the sky: "Seriously, must you be so wasteful with my treasures?"

A figure appeared before them, accompanied by a trailing smoke. The familiar Sumerian clothes, the flying boat Maanna, and the scowling face of Ishtar with her twin tails flowing behind her.

Shirou raised an eyebrow. Enkidu, surprised for a moment, pointed. "Ishtar?"

"Oh? No 'Lady' anymore? Such disrespect to the supreme, most beautiful goddess! Is it because of this selfish, cruel, weasel of a man who likes to squander other people's treasures?" Ishtar glanced at Gilgamesh.

"Weasel? Selfish and cruel?" Gilgamesh scoffed. "Hardly compares to you, you notorious dung beetle."

"D-dung beetle?" Ishtar's face twisted in disbelief.

"Oh no. To think I, this usually sensible king, would stoop to such name-calling. It seems you're even more foul than a dung beetle, Ishtar." Gilgamesh crossed his arms.

"Gilgamesh, you...!" Ishtar gritted her teeth. She had to admit, Gilgamesh had the upper hand in a battle of insults.

"And you dare accuse me of using your treasures? That alone warrants punishment. But getting angry at a dung beetle is beneath my dignity. That mongrel Eternal King would never let me live it down. Fine, fine. Trash belongs in the bin, you may leave now." Gilgamesh waved dismissively at Ishtar.

"You're right, trash should go into the trash can," Ishtar seethed, "but the real trash is you, you foul-mouthed oaf. Mark my words, I'll make you disappear without a trace!"

Ishtar's face hardened, her body radiating a chilling killing intent as she lunged towards Gilgamesh without hesitation.

Gilgamesh, barely turning his head, exchanged a glance with Enkidu, who nodded seriously. A smirk played on Gilgamesh's lips as he looked at the charging Ishtar. "You mongrel who doesn't even have the pride of a goddess, you think you can make me disappear? Hahahaha! How laughable. Very well, come! Let me teach you another lesson! Hahahahaha!"

After finishing laughing, Gilgamesh took a step and soared into the distance. Ishtar, with her eyes blazing in rage and humiliation, pursued him relentlessly.

"Who was that woman?" The adventurers were baffled.

Enkidu clapped, drawing their attention back. "Alright, don't worry about them. Let's continue our journey and clear this dungeon!"

Comments

Looks like Gil and Ishtar really can't help but come to blows in the situation.
