Meat Cleaver Mutilator 2?

Gameplay: https://youtu.be/I5IVuaQOICY

Chase test: https://youtu.be/U6l9ZZQxA5I

I know I have trouble sticking to something, so lately I've been inspired by that Granny game everybody has been playing (because I think I can do it better).

So I've been working on a Meat Cleaver sequel. It's a first person stealth puzzle game like others in the genre (Hello Neighbor). You sneak around the house hiding from the cleaver killer, solving puzzles to find an escape. You can hide under beds, climb into airvents, crawl spaces, above the ceiling, etc. It would be very similar to the planned "Murder House" version of PDM

So is this something you guys want to see more of? Alpha 1.0 this month and then possibly adding to it with future updates (expanding the map, survival mechanics like finding food and water)

Or do you want more Buzz-Saw Blood House? I know BSBH isn't for everyone so maybe a break with a survival horror would be nice.

As far as the MCM franchise goes: Part 1 is the current version. Part 2 would be this, and part 3 will be the super high res version in the asylum

PUPPET COMBO

Sorry to bring up an old thread (which I love the idea of a sequel being like a stealth horror game), but where can I find MCM 1? I feel like when I search through the old posts for MCM I can only find the old walkthrough demo, but not an actual final release. Or is the final release the walkthrough demo? Thanks!

MCM 2 Looks really good! Can't wait.

Man Crush Monday ???

Can't wait for MCM!

YES!!

i like that idea

I really want this to happen

Love the idea, cant wait to try it.

I agree about sticking to the large projects, but I have no self control. I've been looking for a puppet combo CEO to be my boss and keep things on track.

PUPPET COMBO

I think you should stick with what's almost finished, or, if you don't like committing to large projects, start doing smaller mini games (like that shotgun fight I recommended)

It feels like I can't be an advocate of jumping from project to project; they'll all end up in different unfinished states, most probably. I know because that is also how I go about my own personal projects. ...BUT! I really, truly dig the aesthetic of that MCM2 proof of concept. Leaning even harder on the VHS look, with minimalist UI, it gives off a caustic, creepy vibe that I really love. And I agree that FPS-type development is a little easier, and I am confident you can do much much better than Granny, so....yeah, go ahead. Surprise us with a MCM2.

somewhat

I honestly haven't played either of them. I've heard about Hello Neighbor being kind of bad. Granny is really cool concept wise, but the sound design is a bit lacking and that is probably the most important thing in a horror game. I think 1st person is warranted for this type of thing since searching through cabinets and furniture is one of the main game mechanics. From a development perspective, first person makes everything super fast to accomplish.

PUPPET COMBO

ALSO it might spark some new interest or curiosity about MCM 1 and your other games, so could be a win win. I for one love the variation you've been offering up with these newer games. I love to have your trademark aesthetic and style in different playstyles!

I think the first person puzzle solving games like Granny and Hello Neighbor are going to continue being explored even further, especially since Granny sort of, well, looks like trash, and Hello Neighbor has been put through the ringer with the constant HUGE changes that were made version to version and still has mixed reception in the "final" edition. (If the devs actually choose to leave it alone, lol) THIS, however, I could see catching on. This would be a great aesthetic shift for the genre. I think it would have a great appeal to those who value the visually driven/glitchy aesthetic games as well as the pixelated horror games. Also I love third person and tank controls but I also think a strictly first person experience will spook people well!

Actually, constantly watching the video I feel as if I’ve seen that wolf mask before in something but I can’t put my finger on it. It’s not based on anything, is it?

I wouldn’t mind seeing some more of it!

I'm 100% down for this! Since there has been a few updates with BSBH, it wouldn't hurt to take a break from it.
