BTS - Making of WTDS Background Art - 02 - Angel Dust's room (1)

Hey everyone! Here I show you guys a little step by step of how me and my amazing friend Cloudly.Art work on WTDS's background art. This time I show you how we made the art for the seggs scene in CH01 "Let's get to Living" c:

Angel DOES have a canon room, both in the show and in the Addict music video... however i chose not to use it because 1) I don't really love any of the canon designs xD and I didn't wanna work on something I don't enjoy 100%, and 2) I stumbled upon MothmanAdjacen'ts background design for Angel's room, and I feel in love with it ;u; for me this is now Angel's room and there's no more. It's just PERFECT.

Before I even started storyboarding the chapter, I DMd MothmanAdjacent to ask for their permission to use their design for this comic ;u; thank you so SO much!! waves

These BG art are very special for me coz they were the first ones my amazing friend Cloudly.art and I collabed on TvT. After getting permission, I sorta made a blueprint of the room using MothmanAdjacent's design as a base. I expanded the room, added the bathroom and the last corner. I also chose a place for the door and which way it opened.

I also decided to skip almost all accesories and objects in the original design ;u; I would've loved to use them but I am working with a LOT of camera angles and drawing each detail everytime was basically setting myself for failure xD so that's why Angel's room is always clean and tidy xD

With the blueprint ready, I showed Cloudly which camera angles I was gonna need. As always, I include the characters in a very unspecified pose, so not to spoil Cloudly too much coz she reads the comic as well xD

Using my guides (?) Cloudly redid the backgrounds, properly xD not like myself. Over her layout, I added the linework.

On top of the finished backgrounds I added Husk and Angel and completed the scenes ;u;
