I know it is "twisty" and such... but something that has slowly formed in my mind over the seasons watching UHC is that it would be cool for one to be set in an Adventure-y map. Where there are goals with an ultimate grand goal at the end... (just not The End. :P) the person, or team, left standing wins, etc.
Mayhaps have teams of 3-4 (those seem to work best) that hold locations where goal objects are supposedly located. Have hints and clues hidden in temples about the map.
Maybe even have non-aggression pacts outside of temple and goal locations... leave open the possibility of people or teams working together to conquer more difficult tasks, puzzles, or dungeons only to have all bets off when the goal is within sight. :P
Of course this would likely require tons of work and would be super disappointing to those who put it all together if it ended too quickly or they died early on like with Guude this season.
