Pan learns the hard way that sometimes, rules are put in place for a good reason. Unfortunately for him, that lesson doesn't set in until he's found himself being engulfed in gold, his body locked in its cocky sitting position, a forced smile on his face.
Alternate take: In this alternate image set, instead of being turned to gold, Pan is now immobilized, a living statue. He can see and hear and grunt and moan, but he's forever stuck with that smile on his face, unable to do anything but wiggle helplessly.
