The lawyer, Granny, his uncle, his parents, Micheal, the corporate stooge, the arena thug. Thats a lot of bad people for 17 parts. Normal Wuxia has less jerks than this and thats saying something.

I recently Tried reading 10 realms but I'm enjoying this so much more. I love it that the MC has to struggle a bit and everything is not just handed to him. I don't want to read a book where there's a I win button

As a lawyer, I don't find the lawyer all that evil. Just doing his job, following the law. Hell, I'd probably read a series about lucrim lawyers. I will license that idea for one plate of nachos.

As long as these pay out later, I think the chapters fine - good even. There’s good conflict right at the end which makes it interesting to drive the story forward

I like that it didn't go the normal route. If you want you can turn this into a rational fiction but you'd need to clean up the evil lawyer from the inheritance hearing. He's just too randomly evil.

No such thing as a free lunch, eh.. well, our --unfortunate-- protagonist is honestly interesting enough without you needing to hand him these kinda things. PS : if I were you, I'd just remove the "Most likely it's going to get some serious hate, but I hope some people enjoy it". You're the author here, you don't really need to justify yourself, and usually people like being surprised, so I doubt people are really going to throw hate over that. Plus, now, the CEO knows him, that's """good"", right? Ha ha ha... hah. :/
