All I'll say now is that the system is absolutely gamed and Granny Whitney is pretty good at gaming it.

If it's based on his total generation rate, the leeches seem like a pretty unfair handicap, but if it's based on his effective rate, then that makes me wonder if the system is exploitable via temporary use of aura leeches. After all, in real life combat sports, people already treat weight classes as a system to be gamed by default.

2019-05-09 18:02:46 +0000 UTCIf 0 is a cakewalk and 10 is unrelenting difficulty, I was actually trying to make Rick's life about a 6. Other opinions differ, clearly. I hope to maintain verisimilitude, but he'll make extraordinary progress over the course of the story. >I'm interested to know how the whole "featherweight, middleweight, heavyweight" etc. classifications used for underground fighting track the relative lucrim status of people in mainstream society. Fighters have higher standards; Emily is well above middling in terms of overall society. It's like average salary for an engineer vs average salary for the whole country. >At what point would Rick fail to make his "weigh-in" for his class? I have a specific number in my notes, and this will actually be relevant later.

2019-05-09 16:53:35 +0000 UTCConsidering all the people on Royal Road who seem convinced that the whole story is basically a long parade stomping down on Rick, it's pretty striking how far he's come by this point in the relatively short time since the beginning of the story. It's been, what, a few months? Since the 5000 lucrim Henry picked up from his demonic bond seemed legitimately tempting to Rick. And Rick's gains by now are almost that large even accounting for what he's losing from the leeches, which he's making good time on getting rid of. I'm interested to know how the whole "featherweight, middleweight, heavyweight" etc. classifications used for underground fighting track the relative lucrim status of people in mainstream society. Is Emily's lucrim score actually middling by societal standards, or are the standards for fighters different? At what point would Rick fail to make his "weigh-in" for his class?
