TWC Cover Progress
Added 2021-02-13 20:11:56 +0000 UTCHey, everyone. No chapters this week as the RoyalRoad posting winds down. Last time I got hate for not giving people time to read, so I'll leave them up a bit longer.
In any case, the new covers aren't close to done, so we're stalled anyway. Please check out the new draft for TWC1, though! I hope the colored version of this will be a more dynamic signpost for the series. It's not accurate to Theo's blueprint, but book covers are movie posters anyway.
A question for you: if we follow this model for the covers, what should the others be? We could have Fiyu and Nauda with their own buildings, of course, but I worry this model would quickly become repetitive.

I could see covers featuring a main character each, and their soul homes ... the first book would probably show Theo's original soulhome in flames.

2021-02-14 03:57:56 +0000 UTCAs long as they all had different buildings and more importantly different colorization, they wouldn't look out of place amidst other series that have similar-but-different covers. A suggestion though; have the characters be in different places on the cover for each so that a scroll through on amazon or kindle would draw the eye to a different part of the image.

2021-02-13 20:21:32 +0000 UTCIt might be neat to see "typical" blueprints for the various worlds the characters experience as cover art! It allows more artistic creativity since it isn't tied to a specific character, and can still be flavorful.
