Weekend work musings

 Designing a boss encounter is really interestingParticularly the state machine for the boss AI. You need so much more thought into how they flow into each other, how to make the boss act in a logical fashion, etcBut most of all, make them behave in a way that they're challenging even when they're the main focus of attentionAri is kinda like this: 

1. She fires projectiles, rather than hitscans. This is noteworthy because she fires a lot more often and more crucially...

2. She fires while moving instead of stopping to fire. 

3. At intervals (semi-randomized) she strafes quickly tot he left or right. 

4. She doesn't flinch on every hit, making her harder to stunlock 

Really it's just something I find really interesting. I really like AI design. Far more than I expected.
