So for well over a year I've been working on a setting for a webcomic that I can hopefully start soon! But I've been using the D&D group that I'm DM'ing for as the test bed for developing and fleshing out the world. That comes with needing to make a lot of tokens and concept art, so here's all that! All of the colour was done speed-style on Windows 98 with the HP Kayak.
The setting is ruled by three metallic dragons, who have styled themselves The Triad... Empress Euphemia the Golden, King Argentos the Silver, and King Basilius the Bronze, whose seat of power is the City of Ramnus and its surrounding countryside. Long ago they drove the Chromatic dragons to near extinction, assuming them to be gone; but now, centuries later, those that remained plot their revenge from the shadows...
Images in order:
Prince Magnantos: A young silver dragon and third son of King Argentos, newly appointed Commander of the 12th Legion of Ramnus.
Prince Zayah of the Crystalline Brood: A young white scaled dragon who attacks shrouded by partial invisibility- rendering him little more than a silhouette in the night.
Soldiers of the Crystalline Brood: White scaled kobolds from atop the Whispering Mountains, who serve Prince Zayah and the recently awakened Queen Tashrah the White.
Legion Banners for Legio II: the Prime Pike Legion, Legio IV the Expeditionary Legion, and Legio XII, the Advance Legion and favoured shock troops of Argentos and Magnantos.
The Twins: Valerai and Valerax: The two eldest remnants of the Sanguine Brood, chromatic dragons from the deserts of Rizinia.
Soldiers of the Sanguine Brood: Red scaled kobolds and their armour.
His Royal Highness King Basilius: King Basilius is a shrewd and reserved, ancient dragon, who spends the majority of his time sequestered in The Earthen Vault, the Triad's vast bank vault and where he micromanages the Imperial economy from.
Metallic Kobolds: A lineup of relative sizes!
Cosmology of the Universe: A map showing the relative cosmology of the known universe, shown in a way that Dragons best understand, using the metaphorical shape of an egg. (It's not actually egg shaped LOL, each section has some intricate lore that's too length to put here!)
TLDR: It's divided into higher and lower dimensions. Avalos the material plane. Erimiá is sort of like the Fey-wild, a mirrored plane of darkness and unfettered wilderness that occupies the same physical space as Avalos, but in a lower dimension. The dividing line in the middle determines which side of the cosmology is visible to you. Things tend to fall from higher to lower dimensions over time.
Map of the local region around Ramnus: The region itself and the major cities. NOTE: this map was made for the D&D campaign and contains references to Val Salia and its respective webcomic since the players really wanted yinglets for PCs haha. This won't be so present in the Webcomic form of this story.
Rough concept sketches for Rizinia and the fortress containing the sun channeling weapon of the Sanguine Brood known as The Sunspire.
Magus Selinia: A golden half-dragon and retired Magus Emeritus of Euphemia's Gilded College, living in New Damnos.
Rough concept sketch of New Damnos on the High Plains.
Series of D&D party shenanigan sketches, including a half-elf and a yinglet who got body swapped, a kobold paladin whose pants fell down in combat, a wildshaped druid DESTROYING a fey dragon's mushroom circle, a human bard cursed by said fey to slowly turn into a donkey, a yinglet similarly cursed by the fay to slowly turn into a tree while the knoll cleric stares confused, and the bard from earlier after having DIED and been reincarnated as a vulture while the druid in owlbear form asks them if they're going to eat their own ex-body lmao
Lady Mhera: An arch-fey owlin and time-bending spell caster who has a propensity for making deals, ensnaring souls into eternal servitude, and spawning chaos wherever she goes~
