I liked it

Hawkan Hawks

That was a fun chapter, we saw a different culture and Salvos learning more things about living. Some people see her different because of reasons. Nothing much besides that.

Lon

Yay, gobbies. Also it's funny how she (from our POV) basically speaks with herself there, even tho she's actually speaking with the Troll.

Shaoraka

Thanks for the chapter.

Joshua Little

I personally liked the Kobold arc, and I absolutely love the world building surrounding the goblin's culture thus far.

WingedIkaros

People complained about the kobold chapter? Why... The heck?

Zageron

I think it was an amazing chapter but I also liked the kobolds so dunno... :D

Lestaron

That's probably the best explanation of my own personal feelings on the Kobold arc. I don't think I could have put it any better than that. "Sidequests are fun if they don't overstay their welcome"

Gregory Hunsicker

The issue with the Kobolds wasn't that it existed at all, but that it dragged on too long IMO. And, not sure if this is your fault or not, when the Kobold arc began it didn't strike me as an arc at first (just an extension of the plague lands), so the longer we stayed there the stranger it felt. All that to say this time is different: we have a defined timeline when she needs to leave, we have a discrete character development reason she's dealing with these characters (reflecting on how she refuses to help people unless she benefits), and most of the characters can't even talk, so it's not like she's going to get heavily involved in politics. ...I think you're fine. Sidequests are fun if they don't overstay their welcome...

Good stuff! Nice to reaffirm that MC doesn't judge a hooker by her cover!

Lowe K. Lyesmith

Yeah! This chapter is interesting!!! And most stories almost always NEVER give any character development to trolls n such. Your doing good!

mightguyishot

Lol, man... He's not a human hating stereotype, he's a foil for salvos. This is literally what she's done countless times. "I don't need you, so I'm going to leave you to die." is a sentiment that we've seen more than once. The author is right, humans don't really do this. As a people, most won't just refuse you help that they could easily give, even if there was nothing to gain from it. On the other hand, Salvos does this all the time, and she needed to see why it's such a brutal trait. Consider the elves, consider the demon she's totally unconcerned with, consider any relationship that she's not particularly fond of... She honestly needs more than this small wake up call, but a start is a start.

Universal language comprehension.

How did she get all that from a couple of looks?

BlackFire13th

well they got the "to each according to need" bit down, doesnt sound like they are too fussed about "from each according to ability" but then again, neither is a communist who understands invisible disabilities. so, i gues they could be communist, or like communist adjacent. idk, like they are communal, but are they communist? well have to see. id say the kobolds were communistier, but in like an islamic socialism way. a n a l o g u e s

Kane Carmichael

the kobold arc was great. i for one am quite looking forward to learning about these monsters

Kane Carmichael

Yai for the Rock troll! On a more seryous note, I won't say that I would't like more action, but I certanly didn't find this chapter point less or boring, maybe a Little bit drawn out too much, but other wise interesting worldbuilding chapter. It also gives more insight into the imperfection of human society.

Viedu

The old Gremlin is interesting. I wonder what he is up to. He is certainly quite clever and good at manipulating others. He used some sort of skill at the start of their interaction, and he certainly does seem to be trying to poke and probe a bit at Salvos's motivations and inclinations. It could be anything from a game or test to simply just a tactic to pump her for as much profit as he can get out of her for doing this minor favor. The monster village has been neat so far.

Melting Sky

i dont know about this chapter, it seems kind of pointless.. why would salvos care about Mngrph story? why does Mngrph tell her he know what she want but doesn't even propose an exchange and refuse her offers without giving even an hint? I don't feel there is any progress whatsoever. I get you want to create a new society and expand the worldbuilding but i dont really get anything meaningfully from this, Mngrph is just there to say humans are evil and cruel and i dont need anything from you wired human sounding demon but if you make amend and maybe ill help you, not because i care but just because i want to make your life difficult

DANTE

Ack. Communists!

luda305

I much prefer this version over your first version. I also feel like this is a necessary experience for Salvos. Pace felt really slow though

Mantiqore

Character Development + Worldbuilding, my two favourite things! :-D
