[Salvos] 214. Enigmatic Heart (Removed for KU)

I kinda disliked this chapter. This was one of the first times that Salvos had to make a choice between being moral, and what she wanted. Aaand then there was a cop out. Either she sticks by her ethos, and doesn't hurt/kill intelligent beings who aren't attacking her. Or she does, because at the end of the day she's a demon who will take what she wants even if its hurting someone else. I was really looking forward to this choice for the past couple chapters to see which way her character development went. To the point I just paid for Patreon access cus I couldn't wait anymore (plus least I can do is pay a few bucks for a story I like). Instead there was some gibberish about mind magic that confused the buildup to this golem being a non-agressive sapient creature that just wanted to live. Then we get to keep liking Salvos because she didn't kill them all, while still getting her regrowth ingredient.

Aww but I wanted Daniel's interlude. Anyhow I liked how it ended the last ingredient for the potion, Salvos didn't kill precious companions of others and she got what she wanted. I wonder if people will end up asking her if she don't have more than one shard or if she can give the place location. Though I doubt she would do that.

Great chappy, well done Salvos, glad you didn't fight. Thanks for the chapter.

Love it!

Nicely done, I love the consistent reasoning between Salvos's dealings with both the Gremlin, and the Golem. Their reasoning was similar, but Salvos opted for a gentler approach against the Golem since it was willing to understand compromise, rather than acting selfishly.

WingedIkaros

excellent resolution.

I hope lux shows up again. 8)

salvos went to the monster commune, got frustrated, and figured that the inly way to get what she wants with monsters is to act like those demons that choose to act wild. then she barges into the golem lair and through mind magic empathy figures thats mean, but still effective extorts what shes wants out of the golem

did salvos truely learn something here? maybe a little bit. youknow, it might of been an idea to have spent even more time here.

Kane Carmichael

Even if it had managed to kill her, she would have easily killed tens if not hundreds of its children. It did what it did because it was afraid the other golems would die

CleanAire

Nooooo I want the next Daniel interlude

I like that there was a good resolution, but it did seem like the lux golmi agreed to something by really risky for itself maybe a bit too quickly. Since it was so much higher leveled than salvos it seems reasonable to me that it would have been more like “I can just kill you why should I trust you”. Maybe it’s mind magic enabled it to understand her intentions?

Elle

sad, want more salvos no interludes :(

Tjark

That was a scary thought, Salvos playing God and deciding who gets to live as long as her goals are met. Then came a nice solution to a desperate problem :) pace felt like the last chapters
