[Salvos] 653. The Same Man (Removed for KU)

The more I think about it, the more I'm afraid for Salvos, with the company she's keeping at the moment and all. You see, she has a knack for getting in over her head occasionally, and it was not once that her companions had to carry her out of battle half-dead or in agonising pain and patch her up. She fights best if someone has her back. However, of those four Haec will have her back unless he goes insane with wrath, Taburas might kill her if she's wounded enough, Aemula will try to help but is kinda weak, and Bertrugil might either run, bitch&moan, or help, depending on the current alignment of stars. Honestly, with a "team" like that I'd prefer to stay out of trouble and make only safe and prudent moves, and yet they are heading into the thick of it. Now compare this to Daniel and Edithe whom she could trust with her life day after day. I'm not sure she would be safe if she fell asleep with Taburas around, let alone go into battle with her.

To MelasD: Interestingly, both myself and everybody around me have been feeling fatigued recently for no apparent reason, so it might be a global phenomenon, caused by either something with the Sun or the military radars working on high output. In any case, if you feel too tired to write, just chill. We love reading the new stuff but it ain't worth burning yourself out.

Hey Melas! You are doing amazing work here! Salvos is one of if not the story I like the most! I live in Germany, so you usually release at around 4am. Naturally, I don't stay up that long. But when I wake up the morning following a Salvos release, no matter my current mood at work, I get really fired up! Salvos just gets my blood pumping! And just look at all the amazing characters you established and all the promising plot threads! I think you have every right to be proud and excited about this story! But if you aren't, I think it's better if you don't force yourself. Relax, take a nap or a shower and fantasize about the next plot points you envision. Maybe take something mundane and imagine a fantastical, badass version of thaf item and how Salvos or one of her fellow characters might interact with it. Divine Nebular Pen? Demon Lord's sink? I think when you let such bs ideas circle through your head, you might re-discover your inspiration. And all these crazy ideas might be cool grand skills for future opponents. [The World In My Bathtub]? [Thousand Shoe Stomp]? [Magic Carpet Summoning]? So Melas, I look forward to the upcomming chapters. I hope I get to read them soon. But I can wait if it means getting something as amazing as I've come to expect from you! I hope you are doing well. If you aren't, just ignore everything I wrote and focus on yourself. You can do it!

OK, please if you need a week off or something I'm of the opinion that you should be able too, holidays exist for everyone.

Haec still looks as inept with emotions as Salvos when she originally came to the mortal realm; he doesn't "get" that Taburas is in love with him romantically, and I'm not even sure he would be able to understand the concept.

Danijel Turina

There's no plan. That's the issue. But likely they can just destroy or interfere with the magic circle responsible for creation of the permanent portal. I think there is such a thing somewhere within the domain.

Initially I liked her - she was loyal and affectionate with Haec, despite her feelings not being really reciprocated, but it seems jealousy is making her seriously paranoid at this point. I used to think she's a lot like Amanda, but Amanda is more self-destructive and virtuous enough not to project her issues onto other people. For instance, she never blamed Salvos, instead talking to her about Daniel and clearing the air. Taburas makes Amanda seem pure as the mountain air - she somehow managed to forget that the reason why Salvos is with them is in fact because she is following Haec in his plan, not the other way around. Salvos' plan was instant return to the mortal realms with Haec, who then introduced recursive issues.

Danijel Turina

Wonder what the plan is, like no way they just gonna show up and kill reggie so what's the plan here?

Greenapple247

Someone is having serious jealousy issues. :)

It's unfortunate that Taburas seems to have admired a version of Haec that wasn't really how he rolled. It was an act he was putting on, or alternatively something he was forcing himself to do, but he's a follower at heart. If there's a leader he respects, he's happy to follow their lead. Regnorex simply wasn't that leader. Taburas is going to have to reconcile her view of Haec with the reality of Haec or this could turn out ugly. At the very least they need to have a frank conversation where they really lay out their feelings, instead of Taburas accusing Haec of just blindly following Salvos without question (which isn't quite true, Haec will bring up concerns to Salvos when he has them).

What happened?

Alexey Gladkich

Chapter was nice. Haec is in an interesting situation. Can't even fault Taburas. Can't wait to see what happens next.
