I'm starting to feel like the System is, uh Aliens, and they came up on this world and saw some kinda gross things going on and were like: "These dragons are kinda cool but this Fal-Deus guy is no good. Let's send him to the negative zone and set up a megacomputer some systems over to manipulate this mana field thingamajigger"

What makes you think that they are able to mass produce robots capable of techniques and only have a single angel watching this world? In the first place, Techniques and system skills seem to be linked to the soul so without a soul, they cannot be used. Might be different if you are able to have a robot develop a soul but if you can’t, easier to “repurpose” level 100 schmucks of your World System into loyal drones. 2023-04-18 12:51:39 +0000 UTCIt was stated before that the angels are purely mechanical beings, so I don't think they were ever mortal. It would be far easier to create a magical AI than to enslave an existing mortal soul anyways; as we just saw with Ar'elith, mortals are tricky things to keep pointed in the right direction. Even though Z357 did go rogue here, he did so in the interest of fulfilling his overarching objective, rather than in some mortal pursuit. I could be wrong though, he did affirmatively claim he was a 'he', so that might be left over from a forgotten mortal life. Or it could just be the AI picking up some mortal cultural precepts, with no deeper meaning.

2023-04-18 02:22:29 +0000 UTCConsidering how Guardian Angel Z defied the World System directives, even if it believes it was working in its interests, he is not a mere machine. He cannot face Amelia’s power and has to give up, especially since Amelia is likely to watch over Arthur for any side effects. My guess is that Angels are people who have reached level 100, ascended, and were then scooped up and mutilated into becoming the enforcers of the World System. There has been only one instance of an entity of Vacuos reaching level 100 and they have 1 Guardian Angel. I don’t think it is a coincidence.

2023-04-18 02:06:30 +0000 UTCWell now Arthur can join Amelia in the “not in World System club” and be her second student (and another employee). Though in Amelia’s case she is still being aggressively solicited by the System while Arthur was kicked out. Guardian Angel Z doesn’t get to now start arbitrarily following World System directive while Amelia is there. It saw what she can do and shouldn’t even try. Guess since Arthur became a Lich via the world system, having his class and titles revoked reverted his physical form to before. Though wonder if Amelia did something to pull his mind out of his soul or if it was World System giving him the boot that did so?
