If Trico finds it impossible for a non-wordwalker, low-level individual like Samuel to kill one of them than her sister who probably knew her and her strength better than anybody should have questioned Trico's claim.

It's also the fault of the worldwalkers who believed Trico, who were NOT in the same vulnerable, manipulable situation that Sal was. They are so powerful, they COULD HAVE VERIFIED Trico's claims. Or limited their vengance to the individual who supposedly killed the worldwalker. But nope, they were all idiots and/or bastards who either fell for the lies of someone they distrusted or didn't care about the uncountable innocents that would die.
