[Amelia] The Level Zero Hero Chapter 244 (Removed for KU)

Hmm..... I think I've said this before, but I suspect Amelia may have more than a touch of PTSD from her time in the void. On the other hand, she's not exactly wrong about the consequences of being known to be willing to intervene in situations like this; she really would never get a moment's rest after that. It helps that of the people currently fighting the 'Hero' King, one is literally immortal, and the other two have proven themselves to be as slippery and likely to survive anything as a couple of cockroaches lol. Even if they really can't beat Kal, they can definitely lock him down and annoy him for a really long time.

Which is why I feel incredible contempt for the character. I don't even know where to start; her entire argument probably makes sense in some gen-z environment in America, and is basically "I'll just do what I feel like doing". So, what's the problem if you feel like eating little children, there's a lot of them and you're hungry? Morality is supposedly relative anyway and there's supposedly no God, so why not, if you're a God in your own world? So what if it makes you a monster, what's wrong with monsters anyway, we need to be more inclusive. People just need to learn to be more accepting of your choices. Basically, if this line of thinking sounds plausible in a civilization, it's utterly doomed. You really need to have IQ below room temperature to think along the lines of "Oh, here's a world where I'd like to settle, explore normal career options like farming or cooking, but too much autism to consider the fact that cooking doesn't really work well if the world is destroyed, and people won't care for my cooking much if they knew I deliberately left them to die when I could have solved the problem." And also BTW, if she doesn't care about that world, why didn't she just return to Earth and "have a normal life there"? I mean, her family died, sure, but so what, make your own family. At least she would give two shits about that world. Basically, Amelia looks like a good philosophy exercise along the lines of what happens if you pretend morality is relative, gen-z beliefs are actually true and not utter nonsense, and you give such a person power to actually live like that without having reality smack her in the face. You get something from Ionesco's theatre of absurdity.

Amelia be like: That makes sense, but I'm sure Jax and Arthur got this, so I'ma do nothing. Truly one of the most Amelia moments of all time.
