Okay back to work, also, 11.975MHz Issue 3

Alright, going back to work on Akagi^2. Looks like Little Illustrious is another promotional and not story-wise event which is a good thing for my storyline.

Also, Issue 3 of my comic series. This one tops out at almost 60 pages IIRC. I approach comic book stories much the same way Nirvana approached music, that is, they would craft the actual music side of the song first and the lyrics were an afterthought.  I draw the entire comic first and then apply what should be the story later. I've painted myself into a corner more than once with this approach, but in the end I feel it creates a more interesting final result.  IIRC this is similar to how Akira Toriyama goes about his work as well.  It's also a method that your typical North American comic book writer could never hope to duplicate, something I take joy in knowing because I really, really don't like modern comic book writers.

I spent over a week on the very last page and forgot to erase the vanishing point for my perspective lines. This is why editors are important.

I don't approach Akagi^2 in this manner at all, given the format. Most of my readers have correctly interpreted the cadence of the buildup to the final gag panel (or more rarely the 3rd gag panel with the 4th panel denouement) as a distinctly American influence. This is going to surprise some, given how many people assert it as fact; and I might even lose patrons over this, but here is the truth: I was never that big of a fan of Calvin and Hobbes. Never have been.  Credit to Bill Watterson as one of the greats of the Funnies page, but everything you've seen so far on Akagi^2 is what I learned from reading Bloom County in my youth.

Don't be surprised if Bill the Cat makes a cameo in the future.

Aha! I knew it was Bloom County! Always one of my favorite comics.

Would not mind a Bill the Cat cameo.
