This one was technically written before Kim, but after time passed (and more research), I felt that that one was more fitting to be first, considering how intense the first-trimester problems is in that one (with this being mildly so). In a way it's an improved version of this one, just missing the casual talk between them and the mention of the house. Quite important too, you know!
August 18, 2017 - (17 days after #82, 8 weeks into Susan's pregnancy)
"Ah… I miss it already…" Susan leaned forwards on their shared desk, tilting it ever so slightly by resting her bust on top of it as well. She was careful not to lean too much into it, they were still relatively sensitive.
Nathan turned around in the kitchen while preparing their sandwiches for lunch, seeing her in the hole in the wall. "Japan?" He looked at her screen as the slideshow presented various photographs they had taken during their honeymoon.
"Aaah, yeah. Make that two of us then." Nathan glanced at his watch. "You'd figure they would be up by now?"
"What? Emi and Matt? Nathan, they're like 7 hours ahead, not behind!"
"...riiight, right. Stupid me. I’ll just uh… blame the morning." He brought two plates from the kitchen, each with a stack of diagonally sliced sandwiches. Upon seeing how much space was occupied, he opted to sit down first and put the plates on his side.
He deliberately shoved one of the plates into her right breast, before pulling back. "Here you go, eat up."
Susan smiled faintly as she dreaded this very moment where she had to start eating healthy. No less having to do it twice in case she couldn’t keep it in due to her nausea. She started leaning back, making sure to hold onto the desk with both her hands in case it got pulled along with her breasts. She let them fall on her thighs with a little grunt, which Nathan no doubtedly witnessed. Susan however was mentally occupied by inspecting the sandwich.
She reached her hand over one of the edges to lift one end, however Nathan leaned forwards to tap her arm.
"Nuh-huh. No looking until you've tasted it."
Susan grumbled and did as he adamantly requested, taking a bite out of the sandwich. She put it back down and wiped her fingers clean. Nathan watched her intensely as she chewed and chewed. She started to blush after noticing his stare.
"Nat- don't look at me like that… You know how picky I can be with food…"
Nathan ran his hand through his hair. "Oh I know, all the more important now tha-"
"-Yeah yeah, now that I'm pregnant."
"Yes… but also to help get rid of your morning sickness, even if it's not as bad as it was a couple of days ago." He took a bite out of his sandwich. "It's your body's way of detoxifying whatever's-"
He paused as Susan's finger touched his lips. "For how attentive you are, you sure don't follow your own rules."
Nathan swallowed his food, realising he had been talking with food in his mouth. "Well… do as I say, not as I do."
"Yeah right." She swallowed her food in an exaggerated motion. "Is that what you're going to tell our child?"
Nathan laughed. "If only it was that easy, huh? By the way… what do you think?"
She glanced over at the sandwich. "I mean… it tastes fine, there's something about the chicken that's… off. Like texture wise?"
"That'll probably be the fat then, guess I can't get away with that either huh?"
"Well I mean… I told you I was a picky eater…"
"I'll trim the fat next time. Other than that it's a nice healthy lunch with lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber."
"I mean I like all of those things. Usually. I never go through all that effort just for lunch."
"Good thing I'm here then, to give my wife the proper nutrients she needs."
Susan chuckled. "Oh pleeaaase. Are you sure you're not also into feeding? You seem to be enjoying this a bit too much."
"Hey! It's all part of the greater whole! Honestly… If I didn't know any better I would think that you're into it instead of me!" He reached for the sandwich and as he brought it closer to his face, Susan gave him a soft push on his arm. The food dangerously wavered around but was kept intact other than a piece of chicken falling on his lap. "Hey! Be careful!"
She giggled like a schoolgirl and returned to eating her own sandwich. They quietly ate their lunch while watching videos on their computers.

"Also Suu… I was thinking right…" Nathan started. "It might be good to already start looking for a house."
"Huh? I thought we were just going to stay here? Turn the extra room into the baby room?"
"Yeah we still definitely can- and probably will, but I was thinking of already looking around to get a feel for the market, what kind of pricing we're looking at for something of our needs."
"I guess… but couldn't you just ask your parents for help? They probably know the market as well as the back of their hand."
"I… I'd rather not." Nathan admitted truthfully. To him, it felt like it was all his parents could think about, day in and out. He often felt they were only parents to Eli and Noah by name with how often they had him babysit them. Not that he didn't enjoy it, he took great pride and joy in it. Even now the twins drop by their place quite often. "I feel like they would win if I ask them for help with the very same thing that… did so much to me and the twins.”
“Ah… I’m sorry for bringing it up. Look… then we just do it without them, right?” She leaned forward to rub his back. He turned to her and smiled.
“Yeah. T-thank you for understanding…”
Susan smiled back, however not just because she dragged him out of a bad mood. “You know… We should make a criteria of at least three bedrooms.”
Nathan paused, his mind clearly grinding gears. “Wait, how so?”
“Becaause…” Susan took her hands and rubbed her stomach. Nathan didn’t see her hands but it was obvious as day to what she was referring to. “-because I feel like we’re having twins~”
“Oh? Hahah, I really did sell you on that idea huh? Well, it could explain the intensity of your symptoms.” He scooted his chair closer, sliding a hand underneath her bust. Her belly didn’t feel any different to him, still the same lovely plush, soft belly. Though he knew he had to keep that fact to himself.
“Either you’re a bad influence on me or you simply predicted the future. Hell… I…” Her face turned red as she looked away from Nathan.
“Hmm?”
“I… I had a dream where… I was watching our children play in the snow. I remember seeing their cute little faces, so proud of how big they made their snowman. They dragged me along to see it...”
“And there were two?”
She nodded. “Two girls.”
“Oh what I wouldn’t give to have twins… If- if you’re okay with that.”
Susan frowned for a moment, before tapping the back of his head. “Of course! I didn’t just play along for you, I legitimately want twins. More hassle but… it still sounds very manageable, you know?”
“I’m glad you think that way. Guess… we’ll just have to wait and see.”
She pecked him on the cheek. “That we will!”
