Emily took a deep breath and let out a long and resigned sigh. She took a good look at her now cold tea and slowly trailed off towards the clock at the nurse station. The big red numbers just made her even more resigned. It was 23:42 and she had started her shift around two hours ago.
- It's going to be one of those shifts, huh...
Her colleague Marika had already given in and was currently in the process of taking a "power nap" on the coffee table. Emily was suspecting that her friend Mari was the missing link between humans and cats as she could seemingly sleep comfortably in any position. Emily took a few minutes to admire Mari's sleeping posture before taking a seat beside her.
