A comet, blazing a trail of stardust through the heavens, whispers of a divine artifact lost to the ages: a fragment of the fabled Celestial Throne.  Its ethereal song calls to those with hearts full of wonder and courage, urging them to embark on a journey that will span the boundless reaches of Wildspace and the enigmatic depths of the Astral Sea.

I am excited to introduce "The Trail of Stardust," the first part of our Spelljammer adventure map series. These battlemaps will guide you through the wonders and challenges of Wildspace and the Astral Sea as we embark on a breathtaking journey across the cosmos. Each map is carefully crafted to fully immerse you in this cosmic tale, bringing the beauty and mystery of the universe to your tabletop experience. You'll encounter otherworldly beings and uncover divine secrets hidden within the stars.

The Observatory

Perched atop a towering mountain, the ancient observatory looms before you. Inside, you find a fascinating array of astronomical instruments,  including a massive telescope pointed toward the heavens. An electric hum fills the air as a magic circle crackles with energy, seemingly powering the colossal arcane device. Books and scrolls lie scattered across tables and the floor, their secrets waiting to be unveiled. Although many scholars here are eager to assist you in uncovering the truth behind the celestial events, beware—hidden among them, a secret faction seeks to thwart your expedition into Wildspace.

The Wildspace Journey

As your ship sails through the expanse of Wildspace, the ethereal glow of stardust guides your path, though, at times, its luminescence wanes to almost nothing. Playful Space Whales dance around your vessel, their majestic forms gliding effortlessly through the void. The peace of your journey is interrupted by the sight of a tumultuous asteroid field looming ahead, a swirling tempest of tumbling rocks, and unpredictable trajectories.

The Attack of the Giant Spider

As you journey through the expanse of Wildspace, a chilling sight emerges from the darkness. An enormous spider, its many eyes glittering like malevolent stars, moves swiftly toward your vessel. Its size is truly monstrous, threatening to dwarf your ship and ensnare it within its colossal web.

The Astral Sea

As your vessel glides through the Astral Sea, you find yourselves in an environment quite unlike any other. The air here is breathable, the temperature comfortable, but the nature of this celestial realm leaves you questioning if it's genuine or merely an illusion. Floating islands drift aimlessly around you, cities of breathtaking grandeur resting upon them. These are the dominions of the gods. Among the celestial bodies,  you notice immense, petrified forms - the remains of fallen gods, now repurposed as outposts or cities by the enigmatic residents of the   Astral Sea.

The Planar Confluence (AKA: The Living Rock)

The enormous asteroid known as "The Living Rock" hovers before you, its mysterious expanse inviting yet foreboding. Within this labyrinthine network of cavernous corridors and chambers, creatures as bizarre as the place itself roam, and hidden dangers lurk around every corner.

Many people speak of the existence of a vast chamber filled with floating islands and swirling portals of various colors - The Planar Confluence. The chamber pulses with the mingling energies of multiple planes, their chaotic interplay creating an unpredictable environment. Amid these inherent dangers and wonders, whispers speak of crystals imbued with powerful energy that could serve to restore and protect your vessel with a formidable forcefield.

Is something like that possible?
The only way to find out is to brace yourself and keep going on the adventure.
