Sports Gematria only counts if the pick you make is an underdog, and it must win. If you pick a favorite and it wins, it doesn't count, and the Gematria for it doesn't actually work. The only thing that proves the works of Gematria is when underdogs and only when underdogs win, but only if you picked the underdog to win. If you use gematria to make a sports pick and that pick wins but it just so happens to be a favorite, well then the gematria doesn't count and your pick doesn't count. If you make a pick based on gematria and its an underdog but that underdog doesn't win, well, the powers that be must be on to your scheme and they flipped it on you.
