Video only works on the pateon app. It doesnt work on a website

quick fix: Just open individual posts to avoid the "image link error" and properly view embedded yt videos. Works on Opera, Chrome, Firefox. Its a format error with yt shorts and some problematic embedding stuff. Likely will be fixed by patreon at some point but who knows when. Just open individual posts rather than viewing from the feed

Open on the phone first the video should go into your YouTube history so if you need to watch it on the desktop you can watch it after you've watched it once on the phone links are just .jpg files I don't know why they're being saved that way by your IT team. If you need a web consultant my services are free I just need a day with Miss Piggy 😁

I don't have any issues watching the videos. I use Patreon on an Android phone and am signed into YouTube with the same email address. Some of the YouTube videos appear slightly differently in the app but they all play without any issues.

You have to be signed into YouTube with the same email you use for your Patreon account otherwise it won’t work!

This happens to me when I try to view videos on my tablet browser. They still work if I open them through the app. They redirect to youtube, not play in the app, so maybe it's a link issue?

The reason it isn't working is because you're sharing YouTube shorts, not actual YouTube videos

to continue.... the videos are viewable on iphone. The solution is not website user suggestions but rather today i'd suggest you contact patreon IT and report this. They merely need to find the coding error and fix it.

the video links are the website using a laptop are broken/not there. This is the same for firefox or chrome. The problem began in the last week or so. This is not due to a failure of patrons who don't know how to use the website. It is obviously a bug introduced into patreon's website code by a recent programmer error.

It works fine on phone and the app people whom use this need not apples on an actual computer with web browser it doesn’t work. There’s no way to “click the YouTube button” bc it’s just a thumbnail it’s not an actual video to play it just takes us to a .jpg text link. I don’t think some people understand how it is for the ones of us whom it won’t work for. It’s not a simplistic fix like that. I’m very endowed with tech. It seems to be some kind of a problem with Patreon or how the video post is made.

Yeah for the most part it works on mobile devices but some don’t work on computers. It might also be the way they are uploaded, because again it’s not all the videos. The videos that tend not to work are the ones that when you tap on them it opens them in a new window as opposed to right here on the app.

I do it the same way as Mary, but you Could Try hitting the share button and copy the link and paste it in your browser!

I know once I view lives on YouTube it stays in my YouTube history and I can watch it anywhere so I think it should work

Sometimes I have to use the app but I click play on the video and when the name pops up I hold it and the links pop up and I press open to it opens in YouTube app and works

Mary’s suggestion from the community board: For those having trouble viewing videos from here on your laptop. try opening the link in the app on your phone. Once viewed on YouTube it should stay in your history then you should be able to view on the laptop. Someone verify this works please I only use my phone.

It's weird that it does not apply to all videos.. The "3 videos in 1" post worked perfectly.. are you doing something different when you upload them? Or using a different device??
