Kindred - Chapter 16
Added 2020-04-13 21:00:01 +0000 UTCI need to talk about this chapter for a moment.
I'm sorry for the wait everyone, but writing this chapter was challenging for a number of reasons. It was technically challenging, due to the complexity of writing a gunfight from the perspective of one character, while still showing as much of the action and important scenes as possible. In comics I'm able to lay out scenes in a more cinematic fashion, focusing on action from a number of different perspectives. Since my novels are all first-person, this means it's especially hard to show the audience all the necessary beats, especially in a frenzied scene where many of the characters are far apart from one another. I hope I somehow navigated that in this chapter, and that it isn't too confusing for you all. But I'd welcome feedback.
This chapter was also difficult for a reason I think most of you have anticipated for a while now, if you've read my other novels. So, let's get the warnings out of the way.
- SPOILERS BELOW, but a necessary warning I feel, for those of you who might need it -
This chapter contains graphic violence, and character death.
It is also a CLIFFHANGER, and if that's the sort of thing that might seriously cause you anxiety until you get answers, maybe wait until the next chapter is out before you read this one.

2020-04-13 21:44:19 +0000 UTCOh my god. How vivid, how real. On the edge of my seat reading this. I could smell the powder, hear the gunshots, see the participants running from cover to cover. The research and extra time you took to give it that detail definitely paid off.

As always I’m looking forward to seeing where things go and as always get overly emotional and swear I’ll not get invested again into another story, which of course I always will.
