Kindred - Chap. 24 Part 1 - 'Leverage'
Added 2020-05-09 23:30:10 +0000 UTCI don't normally do this, but I'm releasing the first part of the next chapter with no real editing. I had been told by a few folks reading this that the story was beginning to give them real-world anxiety. While this chapter won't necessarily alleviate any of that, (in fact it's pretty dark, fair warning) I'm hoping at least getting a bit further in the story will make it clear where things are headed, and why the events of last chapter happened.
Hope everyone is doing alright today!

Well like you said... yesterday? Barely yesterday... you are an ink-pumping machine, I swear, you're fast. Anyways, like you said, the raid's timing makes sense now. And even if it's Rory's fault, you can't help but feel bad for the kid. He needs to survive just as much as anybody else and I'm sure he's been given more coin than he could ever dream of... but he knows he did something wrong, and still believed his new friends wouldn't be punished too hard. It's a doggy-dog world out there.... pun somewhat intended. Very good on your part to keep Tuli's simple savage appearances in front of Gezan too. So ... although this chapter's going to be miserable to read, I'm really excited to see how the few new pieces you've placed will move. Like this priest character, mighty interested in knowing how he will become important, he obviously has beef against Gezan himself, so we'll see. Everything is coming along to become a pretty epic finale!

2020-05-09 23:47:43 +0000 UTCOof, I swear I must hate myself, now I'm legitimately sick with worry ^^;; Still. I can't think that Grayson would let anything happen to one of his men. And given the opportunity to stick it to Gezan, I think he'd be on board with staging a rescue. I /hope/ he'd be on board...
