Kindred - Chapter 25 - The Canal Street Riot

Shit hath officially hit the fan.

Please like, comment and subscribe!  Kidding, kidding.  But definitely those first two things.  If you're seeing this, you are presumably already subscribed ; )  I actually don't think 'likes' matter in the least on this site, but they do make me feel good.  And your comments, as ever, are my sustenance.

I will probably be finishing this novel tonight, and editing the final chapter/epilogue over the next few days.  I might do a live editing stream for the final chapter before I publish it.  Would y'all like that?  I think I'd enjoy seeing your reactions to the end, for better or for worse ; )

When i read the name of Grant helping that rat.. helping them and showing them the way i.. almost cried... Grant is... a very important character for me... and i wasn’t expecting him at all...

You really know how to make something suspenseful. I might have called it on the twist that Rory sells them out. It's amazing that at least a handful of Grayson's men despise the anti-gay ideology, too. What I didn't see coming was the cameo.

You have no idea how much I look forward to the notifications I get when you post a new chapter. I’m anxious as hell but enjoying the ride! I’m also loving that we really get to see Grayson. You know I’ve always been a fan of the Privateer so seeing him fleshed out is such a wonderful treat! I’m also hoping you’ll expand more on his origins or his tribe. Seeing him in tribal getup would be a treat. ;)

I don't blame you at all for not reading Legacy more than once, holy hell. I could barely get through an editing pass on that one. I've been waiting for this comment though, I've got to tell you : ) If any piece of my writing becomes someone's 'favorite', that means it's probably good to go with the library of other titles.

Rukis

This is my favorite of your novels. I’ve read them all several times. (except for Legacy I could only do that ride once). I love these characters, and remain in awe of your story-telling while desperately awaiting the finale.

First off, it would be pretty hype to see the story unfold in a stream, with everyone's reaction, I'm into it! And, oh, do I hate sewer going in any form of media, makes me feel yucky. Though I do guess it's a good thing it felt yucky, it means your writing's effective. Talking effective, the tension is simply... wow, I was shaking from anticipation. And I do love myself some complete character development. Tulimak finally accepting himself for what he is, both the good and the bad that comes with it, not just the bad anymore. He is so far from what he used to be in the Wayward Inn... he finally found a place for himself beside someone else. Someone that will remind him of the good that comes from being himself. Now I hope that specific someone is safe and sound. But I feel like Tuli is now his own self more than he ever was, even without Finn. I don't know why you make me feel like I should make peace with the fact that Finn might die (probably because it's a very possible outcome you've made your dear readers aware of lmao) but uhhh, in the case he does.... and hopefully he doesn't, Tuli would continue to grow by himself... and mama Odina would be there to support him. And like Finn said, he's not alone.

Certainly enjoying the story so far, even if I'm so far behind. The editing stream does sound interesting, especially seeing how the characters develop and how you will conclude the story.

Opps I hit the wrong button and removed my comment. :P Thank you for the reply. :) I live with never ending social anxiety of saying the wrong thing and getting the few people I actually care about upset with me. Thanks for putting with my eccentric behaviors throughout the years. ;)

Oh not at all, I'm really glad to know how invested you are :D

There IS another chapter. And then an epilogue. I will await your final verdict then : )

Intense! Tuli’s drive and determination is so fun to read, especially looking back at where the story began. No anxiety or panic attacks, just pure unadulterated commitment to an incredibly life-threatening task. If only Finn could see him now. Gearing up for quite the showdown and final stretch. Can’t wait to see how it all wraps up : ) Gonna be sad when the story is over, but it’s been an incredible ride.

This is getting way too interesting. My heart is just pounding at this point and I’m enticed on what happens next. Thank you Rukis for bringing this story to life. Keep up the good work and don’t stop. 👍🏼. P.S. don’t let Finn die.
