Poor, poor Nikolai! How I still feel such sorrow for his story, his mistreatment and abuse, being poor, why he wore those ribbons on his ears, and how wanted to do such more with life. He was never really given a chance and even though it’s been years now and I’ve owned the book since it was released I don’t see myself ever reading his story again. It’s just to depressing and seriously makes me feel physically ill reading of his horrific end. Goodness knows I would of certainly taken him in and cared for him! Nikki was to good for this world.
