Great work, as always. You do an incredible job with worldbuilding and settings — I can imagine the buildings, the sounds, even the smells. And I agree that as fun and as charming as Lotus is, I have to wonder what she’s playing at.

I have loved ever bit of this story so far, and getting to read some of Grayson's past was a delight. :) I -really- hope Lotus doesn't end up betraying him, but I'm definitely suspicious of her after her only friend comment. I also really enjoyed the parallels between Grayson and the Manoratha- really drives home his special connection and kinship with the vessel. ^^

I know in his heart Luther remembers his first death - but he cannot show that side to Grayson.. yet. Also nice to find the back story on Grayson's flag ship. So it was a fairly quiet take over instead of an all out battle - I'd love to see how Gray learns to become the Captain of such a vessel. His past shows a lot about him - definitely an eye opener to the character who'd been coddled and protected all of his life and finally breaks free to be his own person. Many thanks for sharing this with your devoted followers.. Marc

It's fun seeing Grayson as a babe in the woods, thinking he's got stuff figured out because he's willing to admit he doesn't have it ALL figured out... Luther really IS a predator (and a damn sexy one)... that little moment where he practically ridicules Grayson for being emotionally affected by casual murder...
