Illicit Alliance (Part 1)

This is a sponsored story! I'm not certain if the person who sponsored this wants credit, but I felt I should thank them publicly. I had a ton of fun writing this, spent the better part of three weeks planning it out, and I may have gone overboard, because now it seems like it's going to be around 20k words long, lol. So, this is part 1, part 2 will release next month. Could even go to novella length? Really depends on the feedback it gets here, whether this story is something you'd all like to see more of.

Please don't be shy! Tell me if you're enjoying it, if you're not enjoying it, critiques welcome.

Now, the details - 'Illicit Alliance' tells the story of the meeting of two giants in my series, Luther Denholme and Grayson Reed, and how it is their unorthodox alliance unfolded. It introduces a new female character as well, 'Lotus' the tigress, whom I'm hoping you'll all like as much as I do <3

This story contains adult content, including profanity, period-norm homophobia, bondage/bdsm themes, copious amounts of alcohol and drunk sex.

Can't get enough of this! Even setting aside the fact that these are probably my two favorite characters, the witty banter and vivid descriptors makes me feel like I'm just a table over in the bar, listening to it all.

Randall

He's basically saying 'yeah, that's me in a nutshell'. But in a more period-appropriate phrasing.

The dialogue is perfect, as always, though I was somewhat confused by Luther's last line. I like that both the Admirals did their research on the other and came prepared with their own seducers. I love Lotus's character! I hope we see more of her in the future! Reed's voice is also very enjoyable to read. Can't wait for part two!

I'm really really loving seeing things from Graysons perspective. This has been such a great little story so far. You should start a diary like series where Grayson recalls stories or events from his past that can be little stand alone stories that in the end you could bundle together as a physical book kinda like dubiously cannon. It would make for a nice side piece to your ongoing larger projects that can be a little lighter of tone.

Very enjoyable. My imagination is going in to overdrive re a trapped and naked Grayson and an admiral with a lot of tricks up his.. err.. sheath.

Marcwolf

I must be difficult for Luther because he knows what can happen if he gets caught. Everything he as worked for will be ashes.

Marcwolf

I think you may want to redefine the concept of 'Swords' and 'Unsheathing' :)

I love it, I´ve been wondering how luther and Grayson met, and Lotus is a really interesting charakter, a woman who is admiral of a two-ship-fleet of privateers in the 1700´s , prefering to hunt other privateers/armed ships instead of going after undefended trade vessels. There must be quite a story there.

Dog-In-A-Jacket

This was excellent!! I can't wait for part two. :D It is cool to have a story from Grayson's perspective. And I love getting to learn how the two met. Lotus sounds gorgeous, and like a true badass. Was super interesting getting to see into Grayson's thought processes. To me, he seems like he is a little too clever for his own good, or maybe it's more that he doesn't think far enough ahead, or consider all possibilities. Also, interesting to have a former lover of Luther's show up. I am not shocked that he has left broken hearts in his wake. I do wonder how Luther handles that, emotionally. Thanks so much for the story Rukis, I am so excited for more! :)

The big standoff moment where Luther has his sword at Grayson's throat reminded me of a certain movie: "You want to talk to God? Let's go see him together! I've got nothing better to do!"

Gotta say. I like this character a lot. Finally wanted a story on Grayson. I like him. He seems to play it cool but regrets stuff. I’d definitely want a part 2 to this or even a book. This is some next level quality book stuff here.
