Valor(Previously Valgrind) update - Better perilous attacks

Hi folks! Here's an update of Valor(renamed from Valgrind)

Hard Requirements:

Behavior Data Injector 

Soft Requirements:

Latest version of Valhalla Combat, which makes perilous attacks from Valor unblockable.

TK Dodge OR DMCO(for dodging AI to work)

Changelog:

AE support(untested as I don't have the latest version of AE, but ideally it should work)

New Perilous bashing mechanism as shown in previous post. Note that it might not be compatible with BOTUser99's Vanguard bashing overhaul due to different animation events being used. 

Better SFX and VFX, although it's subjective. Oh and now VFX properly spawns on every NPC's head instead of some weird bone nodes seen in previous versions.

Enjoy! Additionally, I'm currently working on NPC timed blocks. The implementation will be vastly different from that of players; it may even be not timed at all and based on chance or some custom "resistence" values. I'm looking for a way to tie this to the vanilla game so NPCs' actions stay consistent with their skills. Once it's complete, I'll make a public release and move on to other projects.

Hello and thank you for this amazing mod. On the other hand, I encountered a rather annoying bg: Enemies end up turning their backs on me during fights!

Is there a way to disable perilous attacks for my followers? They stagger lock enemies too much when I have multiple followers. Males the game way to easy.

ive put false for perilous in the ini but npcs still do it,is there any way to stop it from happening?

How close is this to being "complete"? Is it currently in a usable state with this release without it crashing all the time? I'm not a very good troubleshooter, so I don't need more troubles to shoot in my LO. :)

Last line: "Once it's complete, I'll make a public release and move on to other projects." Curious - what does this mean? Are you moving onto other mods, or away from modding projects? Also, will support/bug fixing for Valhalla continue?

As far as I can tell this does actually "just work" with ADRI's Vanguard, FYI . If I check the animation for NPCs after the blue circle indicator shows up using Maxsu ShowAnimCommand, they're always doing `NPC_bash_wpn` or `NPC_bash_shd` as opposed to the vanilla animations.

Hi there, so I noticed that perilous bash attacks seem to connect a while before the animation plays out. Does anyone know what could be causing that?

well dtry i got crazy news apparent valgrind sync on skyrim together reborn partially only issues is that remote players get the npc bashing and perilous attacks

Whoever recompiled the Ersh Dodge Framework DLL for DMCO 2.0.1 and 2.0.2 seems to have linked against the wrong CommonLib lol, as it no longer loads on any version of AE including 1.6.353

I have the same thing except it's a soft-freeze and not a CTD sometimes when an enemy is about to perilous attack, and also sometimes when I attack.

I see, I'm using dynamic dodge with DMCO. Which needs 0.9.6. As an alternative for now I have ultimate dodge installed just for npc dodge. Can I turn on the ai for ultimate dodge via the ini?

I get freezes with behaviour injector but the perilous attacks and dodges work when it doesnt crash.

I think it's on by default. You might need dmco 2.0 instead of 0.9.6 for the animation events to work

It seems so; is there anything dmco 0.9.6 includes that 2.0 does not? I encourage you to update to 2.0+ version but if 2.0 is buggy i can find a workaround for it to work for 0.9.6.

Does dodge ai support DMCO 0.9.6? NPCs do not dodge in my game when i switch to DMCO 0.9.6, version 2.0+ is ok.

What I meant to say is that I would be staggered before the bash "charge" animation even began. I have determined that the issue is in Precision, both 2.0 and 2.02. I reverted to Precision 1.1.7 and the problem is gone. I can see that Ersh made a lot of changes; I've no idea what precisely is the cause.

Thanks for the report. Can you elaborate on bash “connects” instantly? Valor replaces all light bash with power so there should be some room for you to dodge or do a counterattack

Yes, once I disabled the mod I was able to fight all the way through a dungeon, once I re-enabled it enemies would feeze again. I'm guessing it's a conflict with another mod so I'm trying to figure out which. My modlist is quite large so it might take a while. Lol Update: I think I found the conflict, the new Combat Pathing Revolution by Maxsu. Haven't had the freeze issue since removing it.

Hello dTRY, I have a couple of things to report: NPCs doing bash don't appear to have attack commitment, so there's the occasional situation where you dodge successfully but get bashed anyway if you are next to them. Also, have noticed that if NPC has shield the bash connects/staggers instantly if I am very close to them. I'm fairly certain the latter is my own fault but I cannot determine the source.

About enemies recoil when you perfect block them, this is the change in the latest version of Valhalla(1.3.3) for balancing purposes. You can find this in Valhalla's changelog.

hmm strange. Can you be sure that it's Valor that's causing the issue i.e. disabling valor and the issue is immediately gone?

Hey dTry, not sure if this is just a problem on my end, but enemies will do perilous attacks and bashes even if I disable it in the ini. Also, is the DMCO option for NPC dodge compatible with replacers like infinity dodge? Edit: Also, I noticed a few changes to stamina and timed block. Enemies will now recoil instead of large stagger when you perfect deflect and enemies will now large stagger when they are exhausted. Are these changes from Valor or Valhalla?
