Plus he sells boards.

2022-03-15 21:49:34 +0000 UTCthats a pretty normal feeling/experience when you move out of your parents house for the first time. its uncomfortable but you need it to grow. stick it out in LA and when you hit your stride it'll be hard to spend more than 2-3 nights at your parents house because by then you're developed more into your own sovereign individual. i think we're all with you re: the running out of ideas/mental health stuff....but dude we're all just making this shit up as we go along lol thats the beautiful part of life

As much as that shit is pretty lame, and the follower count doesnt reflect the skating, its also the case that those women get a way disproportionate amount of hate that they really dont deserve by and large. Ive met a ton of girls that have gotten into skating in the last couple years that follow skate moss and while i wish they would be more hyped over some of the radder skaters like Breanna and Michel and the girl on Limousine, i guess if it got them skating then no harm done.

You know the difference between opinion and fact and you go out of your way to emphasize when it’s the former and provide evidence when it’s the latter. Do you know how rare that is? Even when I don’t agree with your takes, I’m not mad at them, because you’re giving honest critiques, not mindless and thoughtless hate (though you botched that Mullen thing but good. Yikes!) Most of all, this video impressed the hell out of me. These are big time with ethical quandaries and I respect how much thought and emotion you’re devoting to them so deeply. I guess I’m mostly saying that I trust you to make the right choices and I’ll keep on backing you for as long as you need to sort them out.

I think that there is space for you in the skateboarding industry if u want it. but considering the direction that you chose to go with the ur content (hating) for the 2 to exist simultaneously boundaries need to be like set between your social skateboard life and your contact creating.

While there's a lot of egos in skating there's also a lot of ppl who are looking for honest critique and criticism on their skating and parts. If you don't feel you can give your honest opinions when also having some connection to the person you're criticizing then don't mix the pots but I think the reason pros are taking interest is because you want to keep skating and yourself 1000. I would be upset if someone who I valued for their judgement was dancing around trying not to hurt my ego. I get the conflict of interest but I'm not sure the two paths are necessarily mutually exclusive, as long as you are careful whit who you chose to interact with.

I was wondering if the reason you moved to LA is the result of a conscious or unconscious desire to be closer to or accepted by the skate industry. You're getting more fame, notoriety, and money, so I'm not surprised it's messing with your head. It sounds like you have some clarity around this and you are doing your best to not lose yourself in the process. I do think it's possible to be in the scene AND a be conscientious objector to skate bullshit the world over, but will undoubtedly be more difficult. You'll get through this. Then Kader became Kader and is one of the best. Zach on the other hand stagnated at the same level but was marketed as the best and kids love him.
