Here's a few in-progress photos of the artwork I've been working on for the upcoming drag and drop inventory tutorial for Ren'Py.
It's planned on having a drag and drop combination functionality between certain items inside the inventory as well as allowing the player to drag an object from the inventory out into the environment/scene to interact with objects in different ways.
Will keep it simple for the tutorial, so there will only be a few objects to interact with in the scene in different ways.
The inventory is a simple classic bottom-style one with two arrow buttons that will allow one to toggle through the items if there are more than fits the visible area of the inventory.
For the artwork, I decided to create my own in what I call "vintage" style using stock photography which have been edited/manipulated into a scene. I then use that as a base for the background artwork which consists of line-art and some watercolor style coloring and some "vintage" worn paper textures.
The photography used as a base is mostly from Pixabay which is a site with free stock-photography which photos can be used for free and commercial projects. I also used photos from there to make different objects that one can collect into the inventory.
The software I use is Photoshop and Clip Studio Paint.
There's no planned release date for the tutorial as I'm still working on it, but should be up relatively soon. I would estimate around 1-2 weeks from now (could be less), but can't promise an exact time.
Thanks for pledging and supporting my work!
