Actually forgot that I had recorded this but hadn't edited it before moving to season 5.

Thanks for another great reaction. Overall I do love this series, but I think this was one of the slower episodes, although the end bit made me laugh. It's just a case of waiting for something to go wrong! I think it can get a tad confusing with the irregular broadcasts after season 5 as well as the interspersion of feature length Christmas specials between seasons. There is another special after this episode and before the start of season 5. After Season 7, it was just a series of feature length specials which usually aired one per year at Christmas, but the xmas ones tended to be really funny ones. So yes, it's a much longer series than it first seems. I'm going to make it my mission to try and get a comprehensive box set this year. Really glad you're enjoying the series. Hugely enjoying your reactions to it.

Alan, season 4 ended in April 1985, with the last episode you’re watching now, “As One Door Closes.” The next episode was the 1985 Christmas Day special, “To Hull and Back.” Series 5 began late August 1986, with the first episode, “From Prussia with Love,” (which you’ve already reacted to) and went through until early October 1986. Then there was a Christmas Day special that year, “A Royal Flush.” There wasn’t a series 6 throughout the whole of 1987, but there was a Christmas Day special that year, “The Frog’s Legacy.” Series 6 began with the 1988 Christmas Day special, “Dates,” and the rest of that series continued on from January 1989 through to the beginning of February 1989. This was followed by the 1989 Christmas Day special, “The Jolly Boys Outing.” Series 7 began with the 1990 Christmas Day special, “Rodney Come Home,” and the rest of that series continued on from the 30th December 1990 through to the beginning of February 1991. The two part story, “Miami Twice,” was shown on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day 1991. The Christmas Day special, “Mother Nature’s Son,” was shown in 1992, followed by the Christmas Day special, “Fatal Extraction,” in 1993. Then there was a 3 year break before the next 3 specials in 1996, beginning with “Heroes and Villains,” on Christmas Day, followed by “Modern Men,” on the 27th December 1996 and then “Time on our Hands,” on the 29th December 1996. There were 3 more Christmas Day specials before the show finished completely. “If They Could See Us Now,” was shown in 2001, “Strangers on the Shore,” was shown in 2002, and “Sleepless in Peckham,” was shown in 2003.
