Warcraft Movie Reaction! (September Patreon Pick)

Comments

Well the movie isn't super bad, but it's not good either. I'll try to explain some things you guys missed how I understood what they tried to tell you. I never played the MMO, but have old Warcraft 3 (and Wc2) lore knowledge what I remember. 1. First the Orcs came from totally different planet/universe through that portal so they were aliens to the world of Azeroth. Their planet was totally sucked dry and was dying because of FEL magic. 2. Durotan's buddy the bald orc didn't want to trust humans so he betrayed to the Shaman. He wanted the shaman to give him the fel boost up that one orc got to show the others from his clan how powerful it makes you. The Shaman betrayed him and ordered their clan to be destroyed. That is what I think you missed and were confused why he was swapping loyalties so fast. 3. Medvih the Mage. The movie really never explains this really well, but what I understood he got corrupted by the Fel magic. Think of it like there is 2 magics blue is clear mana and green is Fel mana that corrupts you. So Medvih slowly got more and more corrupted because he used Fel magic. He even says that he sometimes don't know what he is doing, so the demon part of him took control more and more when movie progress. 4. Fel magic. I know from the old RTS games that the orcs were brought to Azeroth by demons and the movie tries to hint at it while not explaining anything about them at all. There is one situation where Durotan asks where did the Shaman learn to use Fel magic and they only say a random person taught him and after that their planet started to die. It's either Medvih in his 6 year absence or a random demon taught it to the shaman. 5. Garona was heavily implied that she was the daughter of Medvih, as she clearly was half-human, half orc. 6. Last portal sequence Medvih does is just basically using his mana to teleport a short distance to their capital people, it's not literally open a portal to different planet or universe which would require much stronger magic, like Fel uses lives to fuel that kind of power. Sorry for long rant made me think what they were trying to hint in this movie again while watching it. I feel the idea for movies was to take from Warcraft 3 RTS game and MMO version twist them together to make a trilogy.

Also, Toby Kebbell is absolutely great in Rock'n'Rolla. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. An action comedy starring Gerard Butler, Rock'n'Rolla and "300" being my two faves of Gerard's movies.

Yeah, I think if Garona, (not Carona), fought and killed Gul'dan in the end and earned her ultimate warrior status with the Orcs that way it would have made more sense. I still love the movie basically because I do love good B-Movies.

Awesome reaction you two!! Forgot how much this movie falls apart towards the end but it still holds a soft spot in my heart cause I, like Nerdy, grew up on Warcraft 2/3 but also spent a solid 6 years of life invested in WoW. It’s a bit of a shame because the story lore of Warcraft 1 and 2 was easily enough to build a movie around. If you can find it, “Warcraft: The Last Guardian” is a great read that a lot of the Kadgar/Medivh storyline was pulled from. Cheer!

Oh crap! You got a VPN? hahaha
