Basically, the show is telling us that humanity has no ideas or clues as to what titans are and what they can do especially these smart titans, so they have to keep pushing forward and try to find answers no matter what it takes, even if people die. Without any sacrifices, they will never uncover truth so therefore, you have to try anything and everything in order to win. If you do nothing, there will be no progress and humanity will certainly lose. If you are honest with yourself, you will grow to like Erwin whether or not he makes the right decisions. You are lucky that Clarus is very patient with you. Sorry she is the smart one here and I will buy the t shirt 100%. I love that she understands AOT and that it was a very well written story.

2023-02-14 20:23:52 +0000 UTCIf the main contention is that Erwin would reasonably face consequences for what happened, then I think you're right (and who knows, he might), my disagreement and probably the disagreement of most people is that it doesn't mean the plan was bad or that he's stupid. When only considering the information they had before they set out, it still seems worth trying to me. But it's as Levi said, you have to make choices and you don't know how they'll turn out, as Eren realized himself this episode. Eren's decision to trust his allies wasn't a bad one at the time, but now there are many dead because of it.

He's not a god who could have predicted the female titan could command the other titans, and he had no idea skin hardening was a thing. The fact that he even says the operation fucked up because of this shows you his integrity and ability to adapt. Calling it a disaster when they learned quite a bit about the female titan is a /stretch/. Also, I'd buy that t-shirt.
