People may come for the robots (the titans since the titan shifters are piloting the titans like robots) but the main draw of the series is always the political tensions, character arcs, and factional conflicts.

Ive really never seen anyone so hung up on the idea that you cant enjoy the story if you cant relate to all the peoples motivations. But hey, atleast you are enjoying this part.
