This ep ain't just any side arc ep it's very good and is rated a 9.3 , also I don't think we confirmed that grish came from somewhere outside the walls so we did learn something new this episode. Nerdy you asked why these visuals opening ,This episode kinda finishes the reason why opening has the visuals it does , basically a wholesome family theme since this season part we find info withing the walls. Also when his mom says that at the end it makes Eren feel purposeful again that even tho he wasn't too powerful and he only got his powers from his dad turning out he wasn't special , shadis quotes his mom that that's not necessary because he's already special just like the fact that he was born into this world. Once again motivating his passion.This ep brings such a feeling of legacy to the scouts it's great.

He didnt want eren to be a solider and die a horrible death WHICH he basically did without the titan power he would of died ep5. 2nd this episode was a backstory and gave u the info Eren dad was found outside the walls, Its not little information

2023-04-11 02:09:53 +0000 UTCIt's funny how many episodes that they think are filler where nothing happens are actually super important and give them a ton of information and clues about the world that they've been asking for since the beginning. Maybe it's just that it's easier to see their importance in hindsight. Like, I find this episode much more interesting than the entire Reiss arc just because of how it really starts to connect some dots and imply things about where we are going in the next season and a half.

It was a lesson for Eren. And a great backstory for Keith which will also pay off in S04 ... But yea it is what it is

2023-04-10 16:08:51 +0000 UTCI'm a little worried that you two may have missed the most important sentence in this episode, when Historia says to Eren "I hear your hardening experiments are going well." This is important foreshadowing because later in life Eren will need to utilize hardening for longer periods of time in non-practice settings, and if it fails him at the wrong moment the results could be both catastrophic and highly embarrassing.

2023-04-10 15:57:38 +0000 UTCQuick reminder about the most important sentence in this episode that you might missed at the end very end: His mom says, "He(eren) is already special, because he was born into this world." which is exact same thing Eren said in episode 12 of season 1 when Armin wakes up Eren and ask him, why Eren wants go outside the world.
